Taco Bell will give away free crunchy tacos by moonlight on May 4

It’s not unusual for Taco Bell to do giveaways based on Major League Baseball’s World Series and NBA basketball games.

But this Tuesday it’s playing its own night game.

The promotion is called Taco Moon, and it’s based on the notion that on May 4 the waning crescent moon will be the same shape as one of its tacos.

Customers will be able to get a free crunchy taco between 8-11:59 p.m. in-store or order it all day through the Taco Bell app or online.

It’s the start of a campaign called “I See A Taco,” which will be rolled out in upcoming months, according to a news release from the Irvine-based company.

This is Taco Bell’s first global promotion and offered in more than 20 countries.
