Tesla Model X Chrome Delete with Plasti Dip

The Tesla Model X is a great looking car. However, I’ve always felt the shiny chrome trims didn’t go with the high-tech look, and decided to “de-chrome” it. The local Tesla mod shops wanted over $1000 to cover the chrome with vinyl wrap. I thought that was way too expensive for a few strips of vinyl, and came up with another solution. Instead of paying $1K+ to have a shop vinyl wrap the chrome, we DIY it with $20 of Plasti Dip. Watch the video to see how we did it. The mod came out great! ...

A Little Bit of Red

I think it was SonjaM, who told me before I acquired Scarlett, my red 2014 Ural Patrol Sidecar Rig, that National Geographic photographers liked to have a dash of red somewhere in their pictures.Over the years, people remarked how well Scarlett's red color showed up in pictures.Yagi, the newest motorcycle in the stable (or harem as Martha calls them) is a mix of black/blue and silver colors, but mostly black. This color scheme makes it really hard for Yagi to be seen clearly in some of my picture...

VW Group Admits Developing Affordable EVs Will Be Difficult

Even with affordable electric vehicles cropping up on the global market, their budgetary nature is relative. Bipartisan Bill Hopes to Triple Number of EV Tax Credits

With many concerned that the public’s modest adoption of electric vehicles could backslide without a federal tax incentive, U.S. lawmakers introduced legislation on Wednesday to expand the EV tax credit by 400,000 vehicles per manufacturer. This would help companies that have already exhausted their quota, like Tesla and General Motors, but even automakers that are nowhere […] The post Bipartisan Bill Hopes to Triple Number of EV Tax Credits appeared first on The Truth About Cars.

Shakedown 1979: Hookie’s super-practical BMW R100

The battle between form and function rages on a daily basis in the custom scene. As much as we hate to admit it, some customs are destined to spend their lives on display, or seldom ridden. But for every show pony, there’s a workhorse out there. Like this thoroughly practical—yet still handsome—classic BMW boxer from Hookie Co. ‘Racoon’ is based on a 1979 BMW R100/7, and was built with reliability and day-to-day performance topping the brief. “Nothing special,” says shop boss, Nico. “No en...

More ‘Crossover’ Than Many Crossovers, Subaru’s 2020 Outback Heads for New York

It is arguable that the original Subaru Outback was one of the vehicles that blazed trails for the whole “rugged wagon” movement that eventually morphed into the crossovers we see flooding driveways across America. Honda’s Hydrogen Motorcycle Is Still Under Development

Many Assumed This Was Dead Honda sure is working on a lot of weird motorcycles.
