Training on loose sand, experimenting with tire air pressures

Today's primary objective after work was to train/work on riding on loose sand, something that proved quite difficult at times in the last couple of days.  I got to a small stretch leading to the Mill Canyon Trailhead and began trying different air pressure levels. Started off at 13 PSI, not very stable and much use of the "outriggers", my feet dabbing the sand in order to remain upright. Lowered it to 11 PSI on the front and 10 in the rear.  Better handling with some occasional dabbing.  ...

Tesla has started pushing out a software update that will change battery charge and thermal management settings in Model S sedans and Model X SUVs following a fire in a parked vehicle in Hong Kong earlier this week. The software update, which Tesla says is being done out of “an abundance of caution,” is supposed to “protect the battery and improve its longevity.” The over-the-air software update will not be made to Model 3 vehicles. Tesla has not yet identified the cause of the fire or found any...

ICON Airflite Inky Hands-On Review ICON Airflite Inky

Some First Impressions I was really looking forward to testing out the Airflite Inky from ICON, and had it out of the box and ready for a test ride as soon as it arrived. I took a short ride on city streets to get the feel of the helmet, learn to locate the controls for the FliteShield and the DropShield as well as the venting quirks. After overcoming my phobia over the larger chin bar, I was ready to head out on a longer ride with Inky. Shopping Now? We Recommend: webBikeWorld has worked...

Aspiring Michigan Drivers Could See Their Wish Come True

Your author failed his first driver’s test, but the blame falls not on an overall lack of precision and orientation on the part of the driver, but General Motors’ atrocious first-generation anti-lock braking system. “Stop” pedal bending to the floor, the sedan rolled sedately through the snowy intersection at a glacial 5 mph, happily confident […] The post Aspiring Michigan Drivers Could See Their Wish Come True appeared first on The Truth About Cars.

Sena Prism Tube WiFi Action Camera Review

Introduction Years ago, GoPro essentially created the action camera market by offering small and lightweight devices that could take a beating and deliver good quality video. Since that time, many other players have stepped into the “action camera” arena including Sony, Garmin, and others. A large majority of action cameras followed GoPro’s lead and designed small plastic “boxes with a lens” that fit within a waterproof housing. The housing itself could then be attached to helmets or vehicles v...

SIDI Rex Boots Hands-On Review

Some First Impressions In all honesty, I was wondering if I had requested something that was going to be far beyond my level of appreciation for riding footwear. I had researched the SIDI line for a best-of article and was super impressed by the Tecno-3 Push Closure System and the ability to replace many parts of the boot that could get damaged in its intended use case. But I wondered if I was going to end up riding around in a very rigid and restrictive boot. I thought that might just be the ...
