Back to Boondocking in Southern Arizona

Sunday, November 8The light of my last morning in the Valley of the Gods: I passed through Monument Valley in Arizona on the way to the new destination. The plan had been to displace to a dispersed camping location near the Sunset Crater National Monument north of Flagstaff, AZ.  However, the weather turned colder than expected and when I arrived at the planned destination, it was snowing! The forecasted overnight low was going to be 11°F (-11°C), much colder than what I'd planned on s...

Lyft sees ride revenues recover by nearly 50% in just three months

Shares of Lyft are riding high, popping more than 7% in after-hours trading today after the American ride-hailing giant reported its Q3 earnings. Lyft, which competes with Uber for rideshare, reported revenues of $499.7 million in third-quarter, a 48% drop from the $955.6 million in same year-ago period. That lackluster result is still a 47% improvement over last quarter when Lyft reported $339.3 million in revenue. That’s good? Investors were heartened by the improvement and Lyft’s abilit...

New Euro 5 Compliant Honda CB1000R Comes With ‘Black Edition’

Freshly Updated! Just when you thought motorcycles couldn’t possibly produce fewer emissions (a Honda CB500X gets 80 MPG while my Ford pickup truck gets 8), Euro 5 swoops in and forces every OEM’s hand in updating their line-ups for the 2021 calendar sales year. In November, Honda gave us insight into the six new Euro 5 compliant models they had ready for next year, but it left us with many questions regarding what the plan was for the rest of the lineup. I went over the 2021 CB1000R teaser vid...

2021 Scorpion Exo-Tech Modular Helmet Gets Updates!

Holy Mother of Modularity First and foremost; I think this is an odd helmet… But it also happens to be really cool… I don’t know what to think about it but regardless the ol’ Scorpion Exo-Tech is getting some updates for next year. Modular helmet options are quickly gaining popularity due to the multi-functionality and ‘anywhere-anytime’ nature of the design. Scorpion takes this idea a step further and innovated on the original modular design with this flip-up chin-bar idea. When you wear a tr...

German Auto Lobby Wants Biden to Eliminate U.S. Trade Restrictions

Germany is eager to see the United States abolish trade barriers implemented by President Donald Trump now that it looks like Joe Biden has won the 2020 election. While that could all be undone by the sudden influx of legal actions taken by the Trump campaign as presumptive evidence of election impropriety streams in, Germany […] The post German Auto Lobby Wants Biden to Eliminate U.S. Trade Restrictions appeared first on The Truth About Cars.

Opinion: Uber’s Reserve Program is Mildly Troubling

Uber is launching a new feature that allows riders book trips up to 30 days in advance. While supposedly innovative, it smacks of desperation following years of multi-billion-dollar losses and an inability to account for pandemic-related lockdowns. The company reported a $1 billion loss in the third quarter of 2020, noting that gross bookings declined […] The post Opinion: Uber’s Reserve Program is Mildly Troubling appeared first on The Truth About Cars.

Dutch Treat: A scrambled W650 with a hint of XT500

Scramblers are hot property right now, but we love the traditional style just as much as the modern. And the look doesn’t get much more classic than this remixed Kawasaki W650 from Dutchman Martin Schuurmans. Martin is a product designer who hails from the city of Eindhoven, but he grew up in a little village in the north of the country. Petrol has coursed through his veins since a young age: “Our house was on the route to the TT circuit in Assen, so my brother and I watched hundreds of bikes...

The Ultimate Guide to Shopping for Women’s Motorcycle Clothing

How to Shop for Motorcycle Gear Shopping for motorcycle gear is nothing like shopping for regular clothing. Why? We’ve learned to shop for clothing based on an abundance of choices. We almost always choose regular clothing based on what we want, not what we need. Motorcycle gear has specific functions beyond covering skin and looking good, and motorcycle gear isn’t supposed to fit or feel like regular clothing. For all these reasons, changing the way we shop for motorcycle clothing is essential...

[REVIEW] UClear AMPGo2 Bluetooth Intercom

Introduction As many of us lament the baring of trees of their colourful fall renderings that (typically) foreshadows reduced riding opportunities for a few months, it is vital, no, critical, that we all continue to look forward in our COVID-19 pandemic world and that as motorcyclists, we all keep planning for the next ride, no matter when or where it might be. And it is perhaps this sense of continuance that provides an introductory point for this submission that itself is a continuance of sor...

2020 McLaren GT. Kristen Lee/Business Insider The McLaren GT is the British automaker's idea of a comfortable, long-distance car. Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories. With a $215,500 base MSRP, the McLaren GT is priced well into supercar territory. But you do get a lot of cool stuff for the money, including ...

2021 Honda Accord Hybrid First Drive – High Mileage Family Hauler
