Honda Files Patent to Let You Change Your Riding Position

Go From Sport to Sport Tourer If you could change the riding position on your motorcycle, you would have no need to own multiple bikes. I mean, you still would, but that’s beside the point. Honda has this in mind with the new patent spotted by MoreBikes. The patent shows a CBR1000RR with adjustable handlebars and screen. This means you could go from a touring position to a sport riding position very easily.  As MoreBikes points out, Yamaha had a similar idea a few years back. Honda must have th...

BUCKET LIST. 1966 Ducati Monza by Vantech

Written by Martin Hodgson | Photography by Jimmy Ban In addition to young motorcyclists and custom builders who’ve found a love for bikes of a different era, part of the success of the retro revival is fuelled by those going back to the bikes of their youth. But never before have we featured a builder who’s been building bikes and winning races since the end of the Second World War. Enter Bill VanTichelt, founder and patriarch of the Vantech family; who together combined to build a bike that w...

Letter From The UK: Car Production In Crisis

As production thins from an ongoing Brexit debate, the future looks uncertain. How will the auto industry in the UK weather the current storm; is there a silver lining?      Geoff Maxted of DriveWrite Automotive Magazine examines in this Letter From The UK. With the industrial problems of the 20th Century long forgotten, it seemed as if Great Britain had secured a strong and burgeoning future for the car industry with the likes of Nissan, Toyota, and Honda among the foreign brands building car...

Grey Goose: A Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport from San Francisco

One of the wonderful things about customization is that it can breathe new life into otherwise unloved motorcycles. Need proof? Just look at the number of amazing Honda CX500s and Yamaha Viragos on the scene. This Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport is another poster child for realized potential. The original wasn’t the ugliest or slowest bike Moto Guzzi ever made, but despite having 90 horsepower on tap, it was porky and not very exciting. MCN was particularly harsh; “Track days often end in tears,” they ...

Honda Patents Single-Cylinder Motorcycle With Drum Brakes

A Super Affordable Model? Honda does some weird things sometimes. Lately, the company has had numerous patents for high-tech applications for motorcycles and gear, but now it seems the company is truly going back to basics. It just patented a design that has what looks like a small single cylinder engine and drum brakes.  First spotted by RideApart, the design looks like a super simple one. The choice to include drum brakes is especially odd to me. Disc brakes work far better and can’t be that ...

Junkyard Find: 1989 Honda CRX

The Honda CRX is one of my very favorite 1980s cars, hailing from an era when Americans paid well over MSRP and/or waited for months for the privilege of getting a new Honda. Custom Bikes Of The Week: 5 May, 2019

From one extreme to the other: this week we take a look at a tiny Honda land speed record holder and the ginormous new Triumph Rocket 3 TFC. Plus a slick BMW from sunny Lisbon, a classic Norton living in France, and a Mash cafe racer from Spain. Triumph Rocket 3 TFC We hear a lot of talk about ‘factory customs.’ It’s obviously a contradiction in terms, but the new Rocket 3 isn’t quite as cynical as most. Simply because only 750 will be built, so it’s unlikely that owners will bump into ea...
