Kia Sportage Updates Styling for Fifth Generation

Kia has updated the design of its Sportage to mimic the enticing angular menace that is the K5 sedan. It’s a far cry from the overtly friendly styling of the outgoing model, though appears to be working rather well. 2021 Kia K5 EX Review – Awkward Name, Good Car

I am not, in general, one to fret too much when an automaker messes with car nomenclature. Even if, in the case of the formerly named Kia Optima, the brand switches to an alphanumeric structure. That’s not to say I never get upset – I was pretty harsh on Infiniti when it switched to its […] The post 2021 Kia K5 EX Review – Awkward Name, Good Car appeared first on The Truth About Cars.

Bought a Hyundai lately? Automaker with California roots outperforms a pandemic

Less than a year into his new job as Hyundai’s top leader in North America, Jose Munoz worried he might be on the brink of disaster. The nuclear engineer-turned-auto executive took over as president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America in the spring of 2019. Then, as coronavirus shutdowns swept the world, auto sales dropped more than 30%, with projections of 80% drops in the month ahead. Would Hyundai go belly up on his watch? Munoz wondered. “When you are a large corporation, you have factories, we...
