2020 Chevrolet Corvette Review: Highway Star

Some of the best driving roads on the continent, the Hocking Hills of southeastern Ohio, lie roughly one hour from my front door. Not coincidentally, those roads are also merely four hours from every Detroit-based ride-and-handling engineer, not to mention the buff books. These twisties, shaped by the glaciers, have been worn smooth by generations […] The post 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Review: Highway Star appeared first on The Truth About Cars.

Junkyard Find: 1989 Honda Accord LX-i Coupe

Once Honda started building second-generation Accords in Ohio, the limits of the Voluntary Export Restraint agreement between Japanese automakers and the United States government ceased to mean much for American Honda shoppers. The third-generation Accord debuted in the 1986 model year and sales of these Marysville-built cars boomed. Most were sensible, low-priced Accord DX hatchbacks […] The post Junkyard Find: 1989 Honda Accord LX-i Coupe appeared first on The Truth About Cars.

Ice Pick: A 1973 Penton ready for the snow

Mention of a themed custom motorcycle conjures visions of bad reality TV choppers, and sends us into convulsions. But this scrambler is a theme bike with a big difference: It’s so tastefully executed, we didn’t realize there was a theme. Until builder Chris Tope revealed the story behind it. Chris was asked by motorcycle photographer Michael Lichter to build a bike for his ‘What’s the Skinny’ exhibition at the Sturgis rally. STROKE OF GENIUS: Yamaha RD350 by Jake Shellito

Written by Tim Huber. While it’s not his first custom two-wheeler, Jake Shellito’s entire bike building career had been leading up to this candy red Yamaha project. The result of a mild fascination and curiosity that later became a near-obsession, this two-stroke build can be traced back to Jake’s first-ever build — more specifically; an RD tank.   “I first learned about Yamaha’s RD line after I bought a ’75 RD250 gas tank with an awesome paint scheme  at a salvage yard.
