Annaly Capital Management Acquires Its External Manager

Annaly Capital Management (NYSE: NLY) is now an internally managed company, after formally acquiring the entity that used to perform that work. The mortgage real estate investment trust (mREIT) announced that it has purchased the similarly named Annaly Management Company for a nominal price of $1 in cash; no extra fees were transacted. Portugal seals final deal with TAP's private shareholders

Portugal's government announced on Thursday it sealed a final deal with private shareholders of ailing flag carrier TAP to take a controlling stake in the airline while avoiding nationalisation. "TAP is too important for the country for us to accept the risk of letting such a company fall," Infrastructure Minister Pedro Nuno Santos told a news conference.
