Coronavirus hospitalizations in L.A. County again soar past 2,000; new cases top 5,000

New coronavirus cases in Los Angeles County again topped 5,000 on Sunday, Nov. 29, and hospitalizations climbed over 2,000 as the surge continues to alarm officials and new restrictions arrive on Monday. Health officials reported 5,014 new cases and 16 new deaths on Sunday, lifting those totals to 395,843 cases and 7,639 deaths, respectively, since the pandemic arrived.
