Limerick-Off Monday – Rhyme Word: VEER or SEVERE or REVERE or PERSEVERE at the end of any one line (Submission Deadline: January 4, 2020)

It’s Limerick-Off time, once again. And that means I write a limerick, and you write your own, using the same rhyme word. Then you post your limerick(s) as a comment to this post and, if you’re a Facebook user, on Facebook too. I hope you’ll join me in writing limericks using VEER or SEVERE or REVERE or PERSEVERE at the end of any one line. (Homonyms or homophones are fine.) The best submission will be crowned Limerick-Off Award Winner. (Here’s last week’s Limerick-Off Award Winner.) Additional...

Limerick-Off Award (334)

It’s time to announce the latest Limerick-Off winners based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in the last Limerick-Off. Congratulations to SJAAN VANDENBROEDER, who wins the Limerick-Off Award for this funny verse, which is both a pool-rhymed and press-themed limerick: Narcissus would hotly refuse Every fact that disputed his views; When his mirror-like pool Showed a puffed-up old fool, He bellowed in anger, “Fake news!” Congratulations to BRIAN ALLGAR, who wins the Special Press-Th...

Mairimashita! Iruma-kun Episode 10 Impression

On this episode, Iruma competes in Execution Cannonball examination with his class. Later, he faces against Alice. So seeing Iruma become serious and compete for the first time is pretty satisfying. Also, the one on one fight between Alice and our male lead is awesome. Other than that, for some reason, I'm stilling liking Opera's adorable reactions and especially Sullivan's jealousy. Now what's going to be the next plot? I can't wait to find out. Overall, awesome Execution Cannonball examinatio...

Long-Awaited Manga Exists!

The Udon Entertainment release of The Rose of Versailles exists! I have touched a copy! See photo proof below. The release of this historically important manga was originally announced in 2015, but production and localization (and the desire to make the release the best it could be) delayed that date. It’s been made available for order through comic shops, with a planned release this month, but current information indicates it will ship in mid-January. I just wanted to let those [...]

Fruits Basket Another Volume 1

Fruits Basket Another is the best most recent example I’ve seen of the benefits of brand extension. I read a bunch of the original Fruits Basket series, although I quit long before the end. It’s considered a modern classic, though, with lots of awareness, so Yen Press republished it in the US beginning a few years back, along with this sequel series by the same author, Natsuki Takaya. I thought Fruits Basket Another might make a good starting point for [...]

Enen no Shouboutai Episode 20 Impression

On this episode, Takehisa engages a shoot out duel against Arrow. Later, Arthur joins the fight to rescue Takehisa.Oh my gosh, the battle between Takehisa and Arrow is very exciting because they're both range users. I was actually wondering when they'll fight each other because they both mastered range combat. Also, it was cool to see Arthur appear in battle once again and surprisingly uses new tactics. Other than that, I wonder who is going to be Shinra's opponent. Now what's going to happen ne...
