Darwin's Game Episode 4 Impression

On this episode, Kaname and Rein continues fighting the Florist. Later, Kaname learns more about using his Sigil. The action continuation for fighting the Florist is just awesome and intense. It was quite interesting to see Rein reveal more of her tactics and abilities. Also, seeing our male lead learn and develop his Sigil is really cool (and even seems to be similar to Fate series Archer EMIYA's abilities). Other than that, I wonder if Kaname and Shuka is ever going to meet up during the event...

Gabrielle Union Claps Back at Terry Crews After He Threw Her Under the Bus by Saying He Never Witnessed Racism on “AGT” Set

Gabrielle Union is not too happy with Terry Crews at the moment. In fact, she feels her former America’s Got Talent colleague just threw her under the bus. In a series of tweets on Friday (Jan. 24), the actress seemingly responded to Crews’ recent comments in which he contradicted her allegations of racial insensitivity behind the scenes on the reality competition show. She wrote in part: “Truth telling, wanting change & having MULTIPLE witnesses who bravely came forward to let EVERYONE know I d...

Marshall Rogers Mr. Miracle v1 #23, 1977 - The tilted horizon on this Marshall Rogers cover is just enough to be disorienting. News Post: Record Holder

Tycho: I’m not ready to talk about records yet.  There’s a lot I don’t understand about it, it’s not mine yet, and if I’m going to address it I need to approach that space and the topic mindfully.  But I’m definitely starting to get weird about it.  Weirder.  I mean, think about my baseline. Fanbyte had a really great article up showcasing a bunch of indie radness at PAX South, and so did USgamer.  It really did my heart good.  You would think that making something cool would be the hard part, b...

‘Star Wars Resistance’ Sets the Stage for the Series Finale With “Rebuilding the Resistance”

I’ve written before that I found it concerning that there is so little time now to flesh left out the major conflicts of Star Wars Resistance. Which is why “Rebuilding the Resistance,” which can be considered a penultimate chapter before the two-parter series finale, pulls off an impressive feat as it picks up on the slack of more underwhelming developments of the past season. Right off the bat, this episode sets off the fissure in the status quo. Kaz (Christopher Sean) is perplexed by ...

‘Bad Hair’ Review: ‘Dear White People’ Director Delivers a Horror Thriller for the Ages [Sundance 2020]

Writer/director Justin Simien premiered his feature film debut Dear White People at Sundance in 2014, and later went on to adapt that movie into a Netflix streaming series. Now he’s back at the festival with something completely new: an ‘80s-set horror thriller about a killer weave. It’s 1989, and Anna (Elle Lorraine) is a down-on-her-luck assistant at Rock Music Video, an MTV-style network based in Los Angeles. All of her best ideas are swiped by others and passed off as their own, leaving A...

In Harvey Weinstein Trial, Drama Gives Way to Lesson on Myths of Rape

Harvey Weinstein’s rape and sexual assault trial opened in dramatic fashion. Lines formed before dawn outside the lower Manhattan courthouse. Full-throated protesters bellowed for justice for Weinstein’s accusers. A list of possible witnesses promised potential jurors a glimpse of Hollywood A-listers. But as testimony in the former Miramax chief’s trial enters its second week Monday, it’s the critical but less compelling details of victim behavior and myths surrounding sexual assault th...

Love is confusing in Jumbo, a messy film that wants to have its funnel cake and eat it too. Set mostly at an amusement park, Jumbo follows the awkward and shy Jeanne (Portrait of a Lady on Fire‘s Noémie Merlant) who has no social skills to speak of, much to the chagrin of her constantly loud, constantly horny mother Margarette (Emmanuelle Bercot). Margarette would like nothing more than for Jeanne to meet a nice guy – and one day she does. Dick Norton, N6AA, on ARRL board politics and its CEO

Dick Norton, N6AA, the ARRL Southwest Division Director, recently spoke to Quartzfest, an annual gathering of hams out in the desert. This talk was recorded by Randy, K7AGE. Dick is a real straight shooter, and he has some interesting comments on ARRL politics, the vote not to re-elect WB2ITX CEO, and the search for the new CEO. I got a chuckle out of his comments about the “blogosphere,” as it was evident that he’d read my previous posts about WB2ITX. The video below starts at the 6:20 mark...
