News Post: Hmmmmm

Tycho: The Geoff Keighley news - specifically, that he wasn’t going to manifest as a kind of E3 Avatar this year - is beyond fascinating.  But also not surprising, I guess?  It just seems like the latest event in a causal chain so clear that it bears predictive power. Simply dropping out would have been sufficient to churn the cauldron, revealing hints of tantalizing beef.  But he said he wasn’t comfortable participating in the event, based on what had been communicated.  Now, when he says “comm...

Darwin's Game Episode 6 Impression

On this episode, Kaname rescues Shuka and Ryuuji fights Sui. Later, they continue planning against the coming Eighth Clan attack. So it was actually romantic to see Kaname save Shuka and get her reaction. Also, I was a bit surprised that Sui revealed her true intentions after the battle. Other than that, the near ending for the Florist or Hiiragi is kinda sad. Now what's going to happen next? I'll be looking forward to it. Overall, nice romantic Shuka rescue and some more cool action.

Grease is a classic singing movie about greasy teenagers. It begins with a triple x porno scene. Sweety pie Jorn Travolter and beautiful Oliver Neutered Junk are in love. They are massaging each other’s mouth holes and pointing at some turds that are floating in the ocean. The problem begins on the first day of school. Jorn Saravolta is no longer a sweetie pie. He has transformed into a horny car man who likes cigarettes and hitting his friends in their testicles. Not cute. Looks painful....

Paul Feig on the ‘Last Christmas’ Twist, Playing With Genre, And How ‘Freaks and Geeks’ is the Template for ‘Dark Army’ [Interview]

Paul Feig was not happy that the internet guessed the twist in Last Christmas. But sometimes, in the words of the great George Michael, you gotta have faith. Of course, there was a chance that someone would guess the premise of Last Christmas, which takes its inspiration from the Wham! song of the same name, but that Feig was “not pleased” that audiences wouldn’t get the chance to be blown away as he was when he read Emma Thompson’s script. “I was just really emotional when I read it. It really...

‘The Lodge’ Directors Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala on Building Atmosphere and Referencing ‘Jack Frost’ [Interview]

Filmmakers Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala know how to let a movie get under an audience’s skin. Even the simplest of their shots, such as Riley Keough scratching her knees, elicit discomfort. They maintain that mood of dread throughout the their newest film, The Lodge, their followup to Goodnight Mommy. Their latest is a chilly head trip of a horror movie about bottled-up emotions exploding into fear, terror, and mystery. It’s an unsettling experience best seen blind. “This movie lingers long...
