Hanyou no Yashahime: Sengoku Otogizoushi Episode 3 Impression

On this episode, Setsuna and Moroha gets transported to the modern world with a demon. Later, Towa gets corrupted by a demon parasite. Wow, it was awesome to see a lot of Inuyasha backstory and references being explained. Also, they revealed how the twin girls are the daughters of Sesshoumaru and Moroha is the daughter of Inuyasha. Other than that, the demon fighting action is great as usual. Now what's going to be the next plot? I can't wait to find out. Overall, more awesome backstory details ...

I Will Judge You by Your Bookshelf

I adored I Will Judge You by Your Bookshelf by Grant Snider. If you liked You’re All Just Jealous of My Jetpack or Book Love, you’ll love this. The cartoons are all about being a reader or a writer or both. Overall, the message is how books can and will change your life. I alternated among thinking “how wise”, “how inspiring”, and “how surprising”. Starting with this opening spread. I thought it was a manifesto for the book — which [...]

Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka III Episode 3 Impression

On this episode, the Guild directly deploys the Hestia Familia to the 20th floor with Wiene. Meanwhile, Hestia learns about the monster situation. So I like this arc development more and more. It's wholesome to see Wiene and Bell continue being together and develop their bond. Also, seeing the Xenos finally being properly introduced is awesome. Other than that, Ouranos seems to be a truly nice open-minded God because he reveals his intentions to Hestia. Now what's going to be the next plot? I'll...

“The Cooties” Wrote A Song About Raisins (That Takes A Wild Turn)

This was supposed to be a simple song about raisins but The Cooties said no The Cooties are BACK with another funny hit - but this time, their silly song has a wild twist. You’re probably thinking, “wait, the song is titled ‘Raisins’ - how twisted can it be?!” Well, it starts with a person trying to fix their satellite TV, falling off their roof (whoops!), breaking their spine (whoa), AND THEN BECOMING COMPLETELY PARALYZED - and the song has just begun. ‘The Gorge’ Movie Coming From ‘Tomorrow War’ Writer

The Gorge! It’s a new movie from Zach Dean, writer of a movie no one has even seen yet – The Tomorrow War, and while there is next to no info about this latest from Dean, I am legally obligated to write about it. What is The Gorge, you ask? Why, it’s a “high-action, genre-bending love story,” at least according to the source of the news. Is that enough for you? No? Well…uh…keep reading, I guess. Twitter-Goers Blindly Praise PlayStation’s Virtue Signalling BLM PS4 Theme

Much like seemingly every traitorous company in the West, PlayStation has continued to virtue signal about how much they love “racial justice” by announcing a BLM-themed PS4 theme, which was, of course, lauded by the innumerable Twitter addicts who obsess over race. The tweet also mentioned that the theme was free, no doubt taking inspiration […]

Bubble Houses in Shanghai’s Space Forest

My family and I stayed in one of these places during the October holiday. The Chinese name for these kinds of structures is 泡泡屋 , literally “bubble house.” You’re inside a giant plastic bubble, inflated by a pump. So there’s a sort of “airlock” door. Interestingly, while you can easily see the bubble walls inside the bubble, they often don’t show up in pictures. (In the photo below, you can see the shiny plastic wall in the bottom left of the photo.) This place is ...

‘The Personal History of David Copperfield’ is Finally Arriving on Digital This November

It feels like it’s been eons since Armando Ianucci‘s The Personal History of David Copperfield wowed critics at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and became one of the festival circuit darlings that the rest of us masses couldn’t wait to see. Then the pandemic hit and, well, you know the story. Disney has continually delayed the Searchlight Pictures film, which was originally set to hit theaters in May. But with the fall release schedule essentially done for, and theaters not look...

‘Dexter’ Revival Will Act as a “Second Finale” to Right the Original Ending’s Wrongs

Last week, Showtime dropped the bomb that Dexter would be returning as a limited series revival from original showrunner Clyde Phillips, with star Michael C. Hall set to don the splatter-proof vinyl apron again. It’s been seven years since Dexter went off the air, and seven years since most fans had purged the show from their brains after a particularly divisive finale. Which raised the question: who actually wanted a Dexter finale? Phillips did, specifically to “make right” by the much-maligne...

Harrison Ford and Ed Helms to Be Lost at Sea Together in ‘The Miserable Adventures of Burt Squire’

It sounds like a dream to be stuck at sea with Harrison Ford, but it’s more of a comic nightmare for Ed Helms in the new STXfilms movie The Miserable Adventures of Burt Squire Abord the Horn High Yo. That mouthful of a title is for a new seafaring comedy pairing together the unlikely duo of Helms and Ford, as a family man who gets shipwrecked in the Atlantic Ocean, and the unhinged sea captain he is stuck with, respectively. ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Season 3 Post-Production Was Done from Home

Last week, word broke that Star Trek: Discovery had already been renewed for season 4, and that the new season would start production next month. This raises one big question: how? As we all know, the coronavirus – which is still very much around, with cases starting to spike again in the United States – has made production on TV and movies somewhat tricky right now. But Discovery has an ace up their sleeve: home-based post-production. At least, that’s what was used to finish the recently-premi...

QSLs from stations whose callsigns spell words: K7MOA, 9A/W4GAL

I’ve worked Keith, or Key for short, K7MOA, several times in the past, but it wasn’t until his QSL card showed up in my mailbox that it occurred to me that it might be a word. The reason for this is that, since the pandemic hit, my wife and I have been playing a fair amount of Scrabble, and when you play a lot of Scrabble, you discover words that you never knew existed. In case you’re wondering, the Scrabble Word Finder defines moa as an “extinct flightless bird of New Zealand.” Over and above...

"Are you hiding something?" Trinity Creative has released an official trailer for an indie drama titled That Good Night, which originally premiered in 2017 at the Edinburgh and Shanghai Film Festivals. The film stars John Hurt (who passed away in early 2017 before this premiered at the festivals) as Ralph, a once-famous screenwriter, who is now in his seventies and terminally ill. But he still has two final missions: to be reconciled to his son, Michael, and, secretly, to ensure he is not a ...
