Resident Evil’s Jill & Chris Disgraced by Fortnite Outfits

Resident Evil‘s beloved protagonists Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine had their legacy further disgraced by having them be included as character outfits for child-focused shooter Fortnite, bound to have child players believing the characters originate from Fortnite on a level worse than a Chinese knockoff. Operating notes: Still getting faster, working Africa, broadcaster in the 30-meter band

Still getting faster Tonight, I had a couple of 27 wpm QSOs—one with Joe, K7JOE, and the other with Mitch, WB0GKH. These were nice contacts. Both of these operators have a nice fist, which made copying so fast easier. And, at 25+ wpm, a CW contact is almost as fast as a phone contact. It’s nice to know that I can continue to get faster as I’m getting older. The key—as I always say—is getting on the air and making CW contacts. Working DX This last week was fruitful as far as working DX goes...

32 Days of Halloween XIV: Day #25

Bela Lugosi, Lassie,& The Spell! In what could be one of his most terrifying roles, we start with Bela Lugosi in a short called “Intimate Interviews.” This is from 1932. It’s so very, very odd. Next: something I bet you never thought you’d hear me say…er, see that I typed. It’s an episode of Lassie for crying out loud. That’s right, a seasonal episode called “The Witch” from 1955. And lastly, the movie The Spell, otherwise known as I Can’t Believe It’s Not Carri...

My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission Review: Full of Action

From the very first scene, it’s clear that My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission has set the stakes ridiculously high. A terrorist organization called Humarise has created a chemical weapon that sends people’s quirks into overdrive, and the first city they use it on is completely destroyed: everyone with quirks dead, and only the “chosen” quirkless remain. Unlike the last two films, World Heroes’ Mission doesn’t waste any time jumping into action as the students of class 1-A and pro heroes are...

Eternals Review: A Wildly Ambitious But Tonally Uneven Cosmic Epic

Throughout the long runtime of Marvel's "Eternals," I weirdly could not stop thinking about a random phrase from a season 2 sketch of "I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson." In that sketch, Santa Claus retires from delivering presents to children for the more lucrative job of starring in action movie cash grabs, which he enthusiastically promotes with the nonsense descriptor: "It's kind of a cosmic gumbo."The phrase intentionally pokes fun at the movie biz practice of combining colorful ad...

Jason Sudeikis Channels Ted Lasso, Gets Devilish, And Boogies Again On A Solid And Silly Saturday Night Live

It's hard to believe that Jason Sudeikis hasn't hosted "Saturday Night Live" since he departed the show as a cast member back in 2013. But perhaps it's better that he didn't make his triumphant return until "Ted Lasso" came along and took his career to new heights, making him an Emmy winner and an even more charming leading man. Sudeikis' return to Studio 8H not only came with the revival of some bits that famously featured the comedian during his tenure on the show (not to mention some surprisi...

Mobile Suit Gundam : The Origin Cover Illustrations – Yoshikazu Yasuhiko Art Book Review

Despite having worked at Sunrise Animation Studios ( the homebase behind the Gundam IP ) for almost 2 years back in the day, I profess to knowing embarrassingly little about the Gundam franchise; I am however, a very big fan of animator/manga artist/director Yoshikazu Yasuhiko‘s art work. This art book is a scrumptious collection of cover illustrations drawn by Yoshikazu for the monthly magazine Gundam Ace, showcasing some 76 pieces of stunning art work, some of them previously unpublished. Shinka no Mi: Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei has gotten far more zany and strange as the main protagonist and his female accomplice meet several new characters, hopefully proving more entertaining than the insufferably overbearing and unnecessary RPG references. New Clip From Knocking Teases Precarious Encounters

Most women have a story about the time they either helped out or were helped out by another woman in a dangerous situation. We pretend to be long-lost friends and cousins at the bar, when a man won't take no for an answer and we're worried that he'll turn violent in the face of rejection. We walk each other to our cars after late shifts. We send our locations to each other during rideshare trips, and generally treat each others' safety with the seriousness that many men won't. We tend to listen ...
