Latest book by Trump’s advisers alleges president has ‘embedded enemies’

A new book by two of the president’s longest-serving advisers paints a dark and at times conspiratorial portrait of Trump’s Washington. The authors, Republican operatives who don’t work in the administration, portray the president as a victim to disloyalty on his staff.

A quarter of the way there...

Black Friday at the local indoor range because I like to live dangerously. (If you see a tourniquet in a PHLster Flatpack on the lane tray, it means other people are on the range. If there's no TQ in the picture, I have the bay to myself.) I brought fifty rounds of 124gr Blazer Brass and fifty of 115gr Federal FMJ. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the gun continues to chug away just fine. This makes 500 rounds since the gun was last cleaned or lubricated with no stoppages of any type to report. 1,500 ro...

Calibre Server dont connect

My system is Xenialpup 7.5 (Puppy-LINUX) firefox 63 and calibre 3.34; I have opened doors and forwarded. Following this guide: http:///manual.calibre-ebook.com/server.html I started the server and connecting with 127.0.0.1:8080 I could try the user and password function and open the library to see and download books. The next step to try the same functions from a LAN terminal (PC with same system and same firefox), Firefox communicates that it is impossible to connect: 192.168.1.2:8080. ...

Gift Ideas for Home & Host

I’ve been invited to two holiday parties this season and I want to bring my friends something special beyond just a bottle of wine or baked good. I hate to show up empty handed, so with the continuation of sharing gift ideas this week, I present some ideas to give a host or hostess that they will use long after the season is over! Here are some favorite things for the home with suggestions for adding a personal touch: Insert gourmet coffee beans or mulled wine spice into these tiled monogram mu...

Automatically list authors by last name first

It's a bit compulsive of me, but each time I add a book to Calibre I edit metadata so that all books show author last name first. That way the Calibre book folder keeps authors in alphabetical order. I know this is a bit absurd, as I can simply search in Calibre or in the folder directly to find a book or author. But now I have a folder with 4,000 books in it neatly arranged thus. Is there any way to get Calibre to automatically list authors by last name first? I search Calibre info and could n...

Aura H2O My Repair Story

I registered just so that I could add a bit more information to the ol' interwebs on the Kobo Aura H2O. I couldn't find much info, and what I did find, I found here so thanks to those who have posted. My wife received the Kobo as a b-day gift. As it turns out, she had just purchased a bunch of paperback books that she wanted to read, so she put the Kobo away in a cabinet until she finished her books. Well, she forgot about the reader for about a year before pulling it back out. She couldn't get...

Smith’s 9-Inch Oval Sharpening Rod Review

You might find it easier to sharpen your boning knives on a Smith's 9-Inch Oval Sharpening Rod instead of on a stone. Idaho – -(AmmoLand.com)- The other week we talked about the Smith’s 10” Diamond Steel. In case you have an aberration to diamond steels, then today we’re going to talk about the Smith's 9-Inch Oval Sharpening Rod. On the street this type of steel is called a “rough steel”. This is the most common one I see chef’s and shade tree deer butcher’s using. Smith's 9-Inch Oval Sharpen...

Aura h20 or Clara hd; H2o in bath?

Hello! I'm new to the forum, though not to kobo. I currently have a glo hd which I love, but have decided to upgrade. I can't decide between the Clara and the Aura h20 2. Because of some health problems I suffer from chronic pain and fatigue. The h20 would be great because I take a lot of epsom salt baths for pain. How many of you actually use the h20 in the bath? It bothers me that the usb port is exposed. Has anyone had any issues with theirs that I might need to know? Does the touchscreen wo...

I dont want the book title at every page

Hello everyone, Apple's iBook epub reader shows the title of the book at every page. I hate this since it can be very distracting (especially when it is a LONG title). Real paperbooks do not have the title printed on every page. Is there any way to get rid of this either during Calibre's conversion to the epub format, or alternately changing the stylesheet in Calibre's editor? Any pointer is much appreciated. Thank you.

Weekend Cooking: Thanksgiving at My House

Happy holiday weekend for those in the United States. This week is all about traditional foods, family, and friends. Thanksgiving dinner can be tricky to time right, and there sure are a ton of dishes to wash, but there's nothing difficult about any of the dishes. This post includes a photo of my pies and the cranberry sauce, which you may have already seen on Instagram. I didn't take a picture of the turkey, the finished dish I'm sharing, or of the table brimming with food. As usual, I forgot ...
