Mystery and Crime Mann, Jack: the Kleinert Case (1938); v1

The fourth and last Gees case, less supernatural than usual. Kleinert, a frightened inventor, comes to Gees agency claiming to be haunted. But only in the dark, and in fog. Gees undertakes to stay with him (in what proves to be a shabby hovel) for a month, and doing so unearths a mystery and a murder. Attached Files The Kleinert Case - Jack Mann.epub (368.5 KB)

Regrouping all footnotes in the same folder

Hi This is a practical problem I am facing when I try to rebuild footnotes. It's quite easy to do it when all your footnotes definitions are grouped withing the same folder, presumably at the end or near end of the book. Unhappily many times, the definitions are placed at the end of each chapter and are thus scattered through the book. And some books may have 100 chapters. Picking up manually all the footnotes and pasting them in a dedicated folder thus becomes a very tedious task. Even if t...

Democrat Praise for Bush Limits ‘Acceptable’ Republican Policy on Guns and More

Democrat praise is calculated to make Republicans embrace “compromise” lest they be smeared as “extremists.” (George H.W. Bush / Facebook) USA – -(Ammoland.com)- “Condolences pour in from New York state, Hudson Valley with passing of former President George H.W. Bush,” the Daily Freeman reports. “U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., said Bush was ‘a fine man and even when he opposed your view, you knew he was doing what he thought was best for America. His yearning for a kinder and gentler natio...

Periodicals not saving position or correctly resuming when re-opening

Hi, I'm having an issue with periodicals output by Calibre. When I open and start reading through a periodical and then go to the home screen, open a new periodical/book, and then go to the home screen and open back up the original periodical, it doesn't resume at the correct position. It typically resumes on a blank page somewhere near the page where it lists all the links to the articles inside the periodical. Is this a known issue and does anyone know if there's a way to fix this? Thank yo...

5.7x28mm is probable cause to search

An opinion from the superior court of Pennsylvania contains this line: While outside the apartment, Police Captain Ryan Pudik saw a box of ammunition on a coffee table inside the apartment. Captain Pudik identified the ammunition as 5.7 caliber, which he knows to be armor defeating. He and other officers entered the building and conducted a sweep of the home to make sure that there was nobody hidden inside. The commercially available ammo in the US is not armor defeating. Free Beacon: A Massachusetts landlord told a Harvard University graduate student that he wanted her to move out of her apartment because her legally owned firearms made some of her roommates uncomfortable. “Since it’s clear that Leyla wants to keep her firearms, it would be best for all parties if she finds another place to live,” Dave Lewis, president of Avid Management, said in an email to the household obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
