Extract Pubdate from imported Magazines

I have a slew of periodicals that I've imported that are in the general format of Title: Title - YYYY Mmm (for instance MagPi - 2017 October) I'm trying to figure out how (if there's a way) to use Edit Metadata In Bulk to parse the titles, extract the date info (via RegEx) and insert it into the PubDate field for each title. Is this possible? I've had zero luck so far with a wide variety of options on the Search and replace dialog in Edit meta information. Thanks!

Forma Couldn't detect screen flickering on Kobo Forma. Does it mean no PWM?

I understand that there are a couple of threads already opened in forum discussing about screen flickering on Kobo Forma. The purpose of this thread is to share how I tested my unit and hopefully someone can enlighten me if there is any better way to test (not requiring scientifically high-precision-advanced tool). Also I'm curious how other forma users test their unit (if there is any testing done :)) and what is the result? I tested using Iphone 7 Plus recording slow-mo video @ 240 fps. Te...

Speed Sights: Diamonds are a Shooter’s Best Friend

Speed Sights can be easily seen during the day. U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- It is not often that I take the time as a writer to review a set of pistol sights. When I write reviews of handguns I will often point out the advantages or drawbacks of the factory sights. Of course, when building a pistol from the ground-up I will mention why a particular set of sights were chosen. However, I came across a new set by a company called Speed Sights that was a bit different than what is out there. More so...

Chrome May Get Faster Ad Blocking While Breaking uBlock Origin

Ad blocker uBlock Origin “can no longer exist” if a proposed change to Chrome goes through. That’s according to Raymond Hill, the developer of uBlock Origin and uMatrix, in a comment on Chromium’s bug tracker. As spotted by The Register, Google engineers are proposing this change in the Chromium project’s bug tracker. Chromium is the open-source browser that forms the basis for Google Chrome, Opera, and soon Microsoft Edge. Don’t worry, though: This won’t break ad blockers entirely. Instead, Go...

Microsoft Starts Beta Testing Windows 10 Patches with Actual Beta Testers

Microsoft releases “C” and “D” updates to people who click “Check for Updates” in Windows Update. Those people become unwitting beta testers. They include non-security fixes and are only installed for people who click the “Check for Updates” button in Windows Update. These people essentially beta test the updates before the fi...

This could be good news

The Supreme Court has granted cert in the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. City of New York, New York case. At issue is if the city’s travel requirements pertaining to transporting firearms is constitutional: The case concerns a New York City ban on transporting handguns except directly to and from shooting ranges, and requires the weapon to be unloaded and stored in a locked container. The law also prohibits transportation of firearms out of the city to a second residence.
