How does the KOReader Evernote plugin work?

I can't find a way in KOReader to add any note to a book. The option to "Add Note" when you select a block of text is grayed out. So I assume the Evernote plugin that lets you export notes, must be for exporting existing notes added to a book by Kobo. So I went into a book in Kobo, added a few notes. Then I went back into KOReader, open the same book, and hit Evernote | Export notes. It does create a node for that book in my Evernote account, but there is no content of the individual notes co...

Annotation and syncing

I've posted about this before last year or the year before, and thought it was time to revisit the topic since I'm still frustrated. Maybe some of you have suggestions that will help. I have only two major complaints with my Kobo experience. The first is that I find highlighting to be a cumbersome experience on my KA1 (and earlier) devices. Having a game of "find the handle" every time I want to highlight something is made even more frustrating when the highlight mechanism is so inaccurate th...

and another Man in a Kilt

This time a big man in red. Red plaid kilt and red cashmere scarf and hat. He has a hunter on his chest. Also a cherub on his shoulder. His toile tattoos are from the same fabric as the last fellow so maybe they are brothers.

Foldable phones are the new hotness. What about a foldable eink reader?

So for a long time, people said 6" is a good / perfect size until larger eink readers came out and now some at least think the larger screen real estate makes reading more enjoyable and is worth the extra money. The downside is portability and pocketability. How about an 8" or larger reader that folds in half, then? That wouldn't be a problem with an eink screen with plastic substrate. I guess the challenge will be the light guide. You'd need two separate ones?

The Lego Movie 2 Somehow Lives Up to Its Impossible Expectations

The first Lego Movie is so good there’s a chance you don’t remember just how good it was. Not only did it tell a smart, hilarious, original story with a wildly famous IP, but it was filled with heart, eventually revealing itself to be a deeper story of a boy and his father bonding and the nature of the toy brand…Read more...

Questions for PRS-T2 Owners

Hi guys: I just wanted a cheap electronic/ eink notepad solution. Here are my questions: 1. Looking at the specs it has a IR pearl screen. So the stylus is just a plastic nib right? Or is it a special IR type stylus? 2. I already have a rooted Nook Simple Touch. Would a t2 be pretty much the same thing as far as accuracy and latency? As far as a note program, all I need is just a few different line thicknesses and shades of grey and black (to differentiate topics) saved in a simple png or jp...

See file size before purchase?

Is there any way to see the file size before purchasing a book? I know it's no guarantee of the quality of the embedded images of a book, but it's at least usually a reasonable proxy. (i.e., if the file size is within an order of magnitude of Amazon's file, the images are probably going to be of similar quality. If the book is only 1 MB and Amazon's is 15 MB, they're probably crap. As I've found out when trying another vendor.) However, I don't see the file size on Kobo's site. Is there some w...

PDWs and a Decent Cherry Cake!

I think I'm going to bake today. What I have in mind is a Kentish Cherry Cake, because I have a bunch of sweet and tart cherries and I think they need a happy home. It would also taste good for breakfast tomorrow with clotted cream. While I'm working on the cake, I'm going to be thinking about PDWs and whether they're a coming thing or an interesting but small branch of the family. It's [Author: Michael Bane]

A Week in the Country?

Reading A Month in the Country and then watching the film a while back, and in particular the book jacket that could have been painted from our kitchen window, and then I mentioned that Bookhound and I wouldn't be travelling far this summer because we had projects nearer home, and it didn't go unnoticed by the observant audience that you are... Books - The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead

There are plenty of slave narratives. Do we need any more?Colson Whitehead's novel, The Underground Railroad, tells the story of a young slave woman, Cora, who escapes the Randall plantation in Georgia with a male companion Caesar and makes her way north and west on a literal underground railroad whose tunnels have been dug by abolitionists committed to undoing the bonds of slavery. The scenes about slave torture and killings are terrible and offset to some extent by the kindness of strangers who...

Attachment In Therapeutic Practice by Jeremy Holmes and Arietta Slade

I just finished Attachment In Therapeutic Practice by Jeremy Holmes and Arietta Slade.Attachment In Therapeutic Practice is about attachment theory and how this understanding of human development and behavior can be used in psychotherapeutic practice. Many of the ideas that Holmes and Slade describe I have been familiar with, and their way of connecting the dots is very...

KOReader sleep mode complete battery drain

I had a rather strange issue happen this morning with my new Clara, which is also running KOReader. I had been reading a book yesterday afternoon in KOReader, with ~95% battery available, and let the reader go into sleep mode with the book still open. Overnight, the battery had drained completely to zero. Is that a known issue, or is it more likely something to do with my hardware and not with KOReader? ETA: I didn't observe this issue prior to installing KOReader, and my settings in the Kob...
