Idaho Open Carry “Tiff”

News from Idaho: BOISE — A freshman Idaho lawmaker, who introduced a controversial guns-in-schools bill Tuesday, is speaking out against a Boise restaurant after he and fellow members of the Three Percenters group were chided for open-carrying guns there. Rep. Chad Christensen, R-Ammon, said he was in a group of five people eating at Bacon when owner John Berryhill told them their firearms were making customers and staff nervous, according to his Facebook post Saturday. He said Berryhill ...

Trending: Blush Pink Accents

We’ve had record number of inches of rain in the last two weeks, winter is dragging on and on and I feel as if spring can’t come fast enough. One color that’s trending in home decor is blush pink. It’s a color I rarely decorate with in adult spaces because it can feel juvenile, but I do like it in small doses in the right places. I bought a chenile throw blanket from West Elm a few months ago, it’s so soft and keeps me warm in my office when I’m working during these chilly winter months. (The th...

POTD: USMC M38 DMRs Stretch their Legs

It’s been a while since the US Marine Corps announced that they would be deploying the M27 IAR in a Designated Marksman Role, adapting it by mounting the Leupold TS-30A2 Mark 4 MR/T 2.5-8x36mm rather than an ACOG. A World of Change & U.S. Failed Media Just Wants to Get Trump

Opinion Protesters and Police Clash in London: In Britain itself, the agonies of the Prime Minister’s Conservative Party are being matched by the increasingly bitter fight over anti-Semitism in the Labour Party. American political problems begin to seem simple when you read the British press about their multi-party crisis. USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- While much of the American media continues to focus on gossip, trivia, and hostility to President Donald Trump, some will actually cover the meeting...

‘View-Master’ Movie Back in Development, Will Probably Win Best Picture Someday

I’m trying very hard to think of something witty or snarky to say here, folks, but I think this news might have just broke me for good. MGM and Mattel are teaming up for a View-Master movie, based on the 75-year-old toy that gives users the chance to slam their eyes up against a pair of plastic goggles and look at 3D pictures printed on a paper wheel. And this isn’t the first time Mattel has tried to get a View-Master movie going, because just like a View-Master picture wheel, what goes around ...

Kindle Keyboard or Paperwhite 1?

OK, I suck at making decisions. I have had (and still have) several old-school ebook readers - the Sony DD1-EX, the Franklin eBookman, the Sharper Image Literati, the Entourage Pocket Edge - but for the most part, I've always preferred the true old-school - paper books. I came across a Kindle Keyboard at a local community sale for $3 with a dead battery. After replacing that for $13, I've been really happy using it. I came across a deal a few days ago where I got a Kindle Paperwhite 1 for $26 af...

Go to Specific Row Number in Library?

Is there a way to jump to a specific row number in a library? I'm editing metadata in a large library and, for example, when the library opens with Row 1 at the top, would like to get directly to Row 7348 to pick up where I left off in the previous editing session. If there's a shortcut for this, I haven't found it yet....

Keep PDF look, just convert to MOBI

Hi there, So, I'm a total newb. Part of the reason I got my Fire HD 8 was so I could save some professional documents to my Kindle for easy viewing. Some of my PDF's have saved to MOBI format beautifully. Others, not so much. I'm looking to keep the look of each PDF as I have it now. I'd like to import it to my Kindle library as I've found they load much faster that way. However, some of my PDFs actually convert to an ebook format and the text is spread across several pages and it separat...

Aura Edition 2 Question

I have a KA1 which I love but my 8 year old son has hi-jacked it. I have the opportunity to buy a used (used only once) Aura Edition 2 for him for $70 CAD (kobo.com has them for $129.99 CAD). This will connect to overdrive via WiFi right? Any reason why I would not want to pick this up for him? I’ve not owned this version before. I went from the Touch to the Glow to the KA1 so I know nothing about the Aura Edition 2.

Dreams and obsessions

Your theory about every person could reach everything in life is really optimistic. But if the person tried once and was despaired and disappointed what is he going to do? California Classics: A ‘Made for Living’ Furniture Line by an LA Designer

Amber Lewis doesn’t have to work particularly hard to nail the whole California casual-cool vibe. A native of Malibu, the aesthetic is practically coded in her DNA—not to mention, since launching her namesake interior design firm, Amber Interiors, in 2013, she’s been handily helping clients achieve the same easy, beachy style in their own homes. We’ve recently been admiring Amber’s Made by Shoppe furniture line, which encapsulates her affinity for effortless style and natural materials. (The fou...

The Non-Violence Torrent – Disrupting the 3D-printed gun market?

“The Non-Violence Torrent” is an initiative that, according to themselves, aims to disrupt the 3D-printed gun market. They plan to do this by flooding popular file sharing sites with fake gun CAD files and torrents. Instead of the CAD file, your download will contain a 3D render of the Non-Violence’s symbol – the knotted gun. Reading “Wayward Lives, Beautiful Experiments”

This is a work of history in which startling acts of resurrection take place: Poor young African-American women in Philadelphia and New York City in the late 19th and early 20th centuries engaged in the most ordinary of activities — walking down the street looking in shop windows, hanging out with friends on the street or hallways, going to clubs and music halls, striving to be singers or dancers — emerge to become extraordinary vivid living exemplars and experimenters of 20th century life. ....

Calibre Companion works with content server but not wireless device connection

As per the object. "Wireless content server" works, but if I try to connect via "wireless device connection", it doesn't. Specifically, even if I specify a password in Calibre, CC never asks for one. However, I don't get any error message, the top of the screen shows "disconnect" (suggesting I am connected) but I see zero books. Any ideas why / how to fix it?

Good

The Second Amendment Foundation: The Second Amendment Foundation today filed suit in federal district court seeking to have federal and state laws preventing persons who, at one time in their lives, were subject to a mental health hold on the exercise of their Second Amendment rights overturned on the grounds that the way those laws and regulations are enforced are in violation of the Constitution.
