Out-Of-Round .45 ACP Casings

Recall I said I had some range time, including with the CMMG PSB .45 ACP? I kept some of the brass and noticed something for the second time I shot this particular firearm.  Some of the brass has burn marks down one side, like this. That brass is Federal .45 ACP.  Some of the brass if clean and well-rounded. That brass is from Double Tap 450 SMC. Other .45 ACP ammunition I shot didn’t have the burn mark.  I looked more closely at the Federal brass, and noticed what I think is ovality, even to ...

First Look: Ultra-Compact SIG SAUER MPX Copperhead 9mm – Review

SIG SAUER MPX Copperhead U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- I was very excited when SIG SAUER first sent out their press release for the new MPX Copperhead. The gun was so startling in appearance that I thought it was a hoax at first. When it proved to be the real deal, I heard that it was a dangerous prank aimed at mall ninjas. I had to find out just what the Copperhead was all about. SIG MPX Copperhead The MPX Copperhead version I received is the pistol variant and is chambered in 9x19mm. It comes ...

Mystery and Crime Williams, Valentine: Skeleton Out of the Cupboard (1946); v1, 1 Mar 2019

Traditional country house murder detective story, with semi-retired Savile Row tailor Horace Treadgold intervening, abetted by a temporary "Watson" in the form of American girl Clarissa Pell. This is the third and last Treadgold book. Although published in 1946, it is clear that the action takes place in 1939, as it all happens exactly 20 years after the wreck of the ship "Red Knight" in 1919. 20 years on from that disaster, the past rises up and murder follows. The txt file came from a Goog...

We apologize for our tardiness in getting you the results for January’s poll. SHOT Show had us all run a little ragged and overwhelmed. The Second Amendment in the States

Right to Carry 2019 United States – -(AmmoLand.com)- Much of the focus on Second Amendment issues tends to be at the federal level. There are good reasons for this focus: Federal law sets the baseline for laws affecting our Second Amendment rights. Federal judges can overturn anti-Second Amendment state laws. The President can appoint new federal judges, and also can set the tone for what happens in the executive branch. We have been very fortunate to have President Donald Trump these last tw...

Does Forma become slower in managing its stored library with more ePubs in storage

I'm considering getting a Kobo Forma, maybe just the smaller, 8GB version. Can anyone tell me if managing your libary of books on your internal storage slows down the more ePubs you have? What, for instance, is the difference in speed, when viewing your library, between having 100 ePubs (let's say it's 100MB) versus 8,000 (let's say that's maxing out the 8GM storage)?

Pop-socket?

I’m tired of the weight that my case is adding to my KA1. It’s a super light case too. I’m thinking of just using a sleeve for storage and using a pop-socket on the back for one handed reading. Anyone do this successfully before?

Music sheet reader for not so large e-reader

I've just gotten a Boyue LikeBook Paper, from stock, it is not so large (7.8 inch) but not sooo expensive, and it seems to be good enough for reading music scores. As it goes with Android, I was looking in GPlay for something specific, but all I found until now are "smooth" scrolling apps, for tablets they are good, not for e-paper devices. Some of them yet provide subtle page turning, but this is not a perfect solution. I need something doing half page updates and configurable to show part of ...

Incorporating NCX file into Epub3 book for backward compatibility

I am getting requests for Epub3 files that still have an NCX file for backward compatibility. I am converting from original .docx files, with a simple hyperlink TOC added for in-book use. The converter uses "Heading1" and other signals to build the actual Epub3 TOC in the nav.xhtml file. While the Epub3 conversion works well except for some minor after-conversion .xhtml edits needed, there doesn't seem to be any conversion option to seamlessly add an additional NCX file during the conversion pr...

Anti-Gun Democrats Should Be Concerned, H.R. 8 Poison Pills

Anti-Gun Democrats Should Be Concerned, H.R. 8 Poison Pills Washington, DC – -(AmmoLand.com)- Democrats may have applauded the passage yesterday of their crown jewel of gun control on the floor of the House. But what they don’t realize is that yesterday was not a good day for them. As much as they tried to put a brave face on their 240-190 final passage vote on H.R. 8, the truth is that — thanks to your activism — virtually every Republican opposed the bill. And that means anti-gun Democrats ...
