The following is a guest post with her 5 essential tips for an organized move from regular contributor, Morgan from Morganize with Me. Over the past 20 plus years, we’ve moved a total of 12 times! Note 10.3 - bad battery or bad firmware?

Hi All, It occurred to me that something was going on after the 2.1.1 firmware update and I decided to check the charge on the battery. I waited until my battery was down to 15%, and then I charged the unit to 100% and left it charging for another half an hour. I didn't turn it on until an hour after I unplugged it - the battery was down to 90%. No Bluetooth or WiFi enabled. I did not have this issue prior to 2.1.1, but not 100% certain this is due to the firmware. Maybe my unit decided t...

Big Island Inspiration

Hawaii is a magical place that fills the soul and has healing properties. Every time I visit, I return with a little more aloha in my heart. Back in March, Matt and I took our teens on a vacation to the Big Island of Hawaii. I didn’t have any input in the details of this Big Island adventure, Matt planned the entire vacation, I let him take the reins and I went along for the ride, so all of the beauty I saw and all of the inspiration I gathered came to me as a surprise. One thing I’m learning is...

National Popular Vote Interstate Compact a Sure Path to Tyranny

The vote is in, this fellow lost, and his rights are what the majority say they are. U.S.A. – -(Ammoland.com)- “The Nevada Senate approved Tuesday a National Popular Vote bill on a party-line vote, sending the legislation aimed at upending the Electoral College to the governor,” The Washington Times reports. “Assembly Bill 186, which passed the Senate on a 12-8 vote, would bring Nevada into the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, an agreement between participating states to cast their e...

Important Message From Your NRA Leadership & Past Presidents, 2019

Opinion Important Message From Your NRA Leadership & Past Presidents, 2019 Fairfax, VA – -(Ammoland.com)- My fellow NRA Member:Since the NRA was founded almost 150 years ago, our adversaries have repeatedly tried to take us down. Today is no different. A recent burst of media claims the NRA is vulnerable, financially unstable, and weakened in its fight to defend the Second Amendment. Obviously intent on not letting the facts get in the way of a good story, most reports offer a distorted and ...

I was reading Slowsmile's post on it and it said Linux was supported but not tested. Anybody got any experience actually using it in Linux? And using it isn't going to mess up the .epub, is it? Thanks

TFB Review: The Beretta M9A3 Pistol

A couple of months ago, I finally decided to take the plunge and order an all black Beretta M9A3. Earlier this year I shot and tested out the FDE version. That version was designed to update the Beretta M9 series that served as the standard issue sidearm for the military for the last few decades. George R.R. Martin Just Set a Very Peculiar Winds of Winter Deadline Threat for Himself

Now that Game of Thrones is over for good, the focus is on when George R.R. Martin is finally going to complete his side of the story. Thanks to an airline’s offer to fly Martin out so he can have some peace and quiet to finish The Winds of Winter, he’s jokingly promised a deadline. If he doesn’t meet it, New Zealand…Read more...

Kobo Forma vs Kobo Aura One use with large library

I currently have a Kobo Aura H2O ver. 1 and am happy with it. Unfortunately, the battery is only working a day at a time. I originally got the H2O because it allowed me to have my entire library with my by using its mini SD capabilities. I understand e readers don't have the sd card anymore. However, I saw that both the Kobo Forma and the Aura One have 32 gb storage which should hold my entire library and allow me to increase it. I'm worried about the e reader's performance when so many books...

Book from 2015 - disappeared?

How can a five year old book have disappeared off the face of the planet so fast? https://www.fantasticfiction.com/t/d...or/outland.htm The storyline looks interesting to me. But I can't find the book anywhere, except for a few used paper copies at totally ridiculous prices at Amazon, AbeBooks, etc. I can see that happening for an old, out of print book. But this one was supposedly published in 2015. There are 295 review for it on Amazon, specifically mentioning the Kindle Version, ... but...

Replacing Kobo Aura HD get another Kobo or a kindle?

Oops. Dropped my Kobo aura HD on the floor. Screen isn't working right, so now I'm in the market for a new ereader. I use it almost daily. I use calibre to organize and load my books. My library uses overdrive, so compatibility with that would be a must. I've been happily using this for almost 6 years, so I don't know what the competition is out there.

Federal Judge Denies Motion to Dismiss SAF/NRA Lawsuit v. WA Initiative U.S.A. – A federal judge in Tacoma has denied a motion to dismiss a federal lawsuit filed earlier this year that challenges provisions of a restrictive gun control initiative adopted last fall by Washington State voters, providing an important win for gun rights activists in the Pacific Northwest. POTD: WWI Soldiers in YMCA Library

This is a neat old photo of World War I era soldiers relaxing in a library at a YMCA. It’s clearly a staged photo, but still cool nonetheless. All the natural goings-on in a library are shown via the soldiers: one reading a book, one reading a magazine, one selecting a book from the shelf, and […] Read More … The post POTD: WWI Soldiers in YMCA Library appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

How Your Brain Perceives Magicians Cutting Their Assistants in Half

Let me start by describing one of the first magic tricks I learned to perform when I was a kid. Here is what the audience sees: I reach into my pocket and reveal a jumbo-sized card depicting the four of spades on one side and the ace of spades on the other side. After mumbling some magic words, I turn the card, and to…Read more...

Aura H2O Aura H2O (1st gen.) screen repair howto

This is my very first post ever. On any forum. I hope I'm not stepping on anyones toes... About a year ago I agreed to fix the broken screen of a friends Koko H2O. By that time I had successfully repaired an Icarus8 and several smartphone screens and I thought the most tedious part would be to wait for the new screen to arrive from China... Well I made my bet without knowing anything about infrared touch screen technology and the wonders of water-proof assembly with double-sided tape. To change ...
