Do you find size or resolution more important for pdf reading?

I sometimes read that small screens are fine for pdfs, as long as they have good resolution. Also complaints about screens which have weaker resolution. Now I have an astigmatism, so for me, size is a lot more important than resolution. What are your experiences?

Sweden Votes NO to Regulating Firearm Magazines

Sweden has still not voted about how and when the EU Firearms Directive (EU Gun Ban) is going to be introduced. Many parties want to use the EU’s minimum requirement, which in many ways already is quite close to the current Swedish legislation. Others want to use the occasion to introduce legislation that goes way […] Read More … The post Sweden Votes NO to Regulating Firearm Magazines appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

Blue Flower Baby

Spring Baby in the midst of a pandemic. I will just keep on working because what else can I do? We are well into Spring here in Boston- daffodils and trees beginning to leaf out. Lots of the green shoots in the garden are cropped at about 4″ high by voracious rabbits. Other plants are not touched. It is good to see the garden come to life as everything else in the world feels like it has stopped.

What “I’m Sorry” Means When it’s Used to Manipulate You

Written by Writer’s Corps member Emily Desanctis   “I’m sorry” carries a lot of weight when it’s genuine. Saying it requires vulnerability to admit wrongdoing and the hurt that that wrongdoing has inflicted on the person you’re apologizing to. To be truly sorry means feeling regret or sorrow over an unfortunate situation and your role in […]

Can I make calibre auto tag books i add based on their path/folder name?

Hello, I'm trying to move my old library structure into calibre(from another software), which is already sorted by folder structure: books\genre\series name\filname.epub as calibre doesn't support structure editing, is there a way to auto tag added books based on the path/folder name to save me the hassle to go thru tagging 800+ books?

anyway to see where biggest files are located from within koreader?

On my Paperwhite 4, I have about 3.71GB free. I was curious how the 2.x GB was being used so I went to settings => device management => storage manager and it says I have 2.x GB in 'other'. I assume that's because my koreader documents are stored in /mnt/us/ebooks which is a non standard directory. Apart from running du -chs to see where the files are stored via ssh; is there anyway to see where most of my storage space is from within koreader?

Kindle versus Kobo?

Is Kobo overtaking or has it surpassed the Kindle readers as far as features and price are concerned? A no advertising Kindle Oasis 8 GB WiFi reader is $270 when not on sale. The equivalent Kobo Libre is $170. Virtually the same physical size, weight and screen resolution. Is the Kindle worth the extra $100 and if so why? Kobo introduced screen color temperature adjustable illumination 4 years ago and has offered it on about 5 models with screen sizes from 6" to 8". Only the Kindle Oasis 1...

Below the Radar: The Urban Progress Act of 2020

Second Amendment Activist Protest Activism Take Action United States – -(AmmoLand.com)- Omnibus bills are often tools that can be used for all sorts of mischief. They end up being behemoths that nobody can really read, much less understand, in time to make an informed vote. That means all sorts of stuff can be slipped in there… and to paraphrase what Nancy Pelosi once said, you don’t find out what’s in there until it’s passed. Want to better manage titles/meta data

Hi Everyone, To keep this simple, I have a collection for each series I have. In the collection, I would love to either add a reading order / book # field or simply add two digits to the beginning of the title to better sort. i.e. 01 - Book Name. What would be the easiest, most non-intrusive way, of doing this? I assume I would have to jailbreak my kindle, download and de-drm my books, edit the titles, and side load them back to my kindle? I am using a Kindle Paperwhite Gen 10 (2018). T...

Rite in the Rain released its new all-weather 25m rifle target. U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Rite in the Rain is a company with a singular goal: make paper products that are impervious to the elements. It’s been years now, but Dustin Nguyen still remembers what it was like to illustrate his first-ever issue of “Batman” — No. 626 in 2004 — as a young artist for DC Comics. “It was really intimidating,” he says from his home studio in Fountain Valley. “My first Batman run was right after Jim Lee’s Batman — no, Eduardo Risso’s Batman, who was another hero of mine.
