Onyx Boox Note 2.0.1 Prerooted System Image

This is from a newly updated and factory reset Note, so should have no traces of Kingroot at all. Rooted with SuperSU. Let me know if I should upload any of the other partitions (except userdata). Do with it what you will. I am not/will not be responsible for anything, including saying what to do with it. Yes, I flashed this on my Note, works fine. If you fuck up the tablet, don't ruin it for the rest of us by pretending it wasn't your own fault and try to have Onyx repair it at their cos...

Action Russell, William Clark: The Wreck of the Grosvenor (1877); v1; 21 April 2020

William Clark Russell (1844-1911) went to sea in the merchant navy at the age of 13, and after he left he began writing. A hundred or more novels, mostly on the theme of events in merchantmen, followed. He was much admired in his time, including by Herman Melville. His star faded after his death, although several of his novels were being reprinted well into the 1950s. This novel was the one that made his reputation, and was admired by Herman Melville. It tells of the voyage of the "Grosvenor," ...

TFB Review: Henry Lever Action Axe .410 – Cutting Down Non-NFA Competition

While a wide variety of manufacturers these days are flooding the market with the same old non-NFA pump-action “firearms” for a fairly inexpensive cost and some even offering semi-autos for a bigger price point, Henry Repeating Arms shows us loud and proud that it is not afraid to stay with the current trends and still […] Read More … The post TFB Review: Henry Lever Action Axe .410 – Cutting Down Non-NFA Competition appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

Large Scale Landscapes

I’ve written about my love of seascapes, but I truly love landscapes too, especially ones that have a vintage vibe when they’re enlarged on a canvas or a big frame. Landscapes have that power to transport you outdoors and to another place, something we could all use a little more of right now. :) I’m focused on creating a series of art prints that feature my backyard in the Northern California wine country. Over the weekend I created this large scale landscape of the rolling golden hills of Sono...

Providing broadband service to those who need it most

I love this article from Fast Company which talks about how libraries are offering drive-up wifi access from their parking lot. It's a great example of how a necessity is indeed the mother of invention. But let's face it: while I applaud this effort, as well as those buses driving around with wifi service, it seems there's a disruptive alternative which could go much further. One of the problems with schools being closed is that some families don't have broadband connections so their children ar...

Has the Kobo Forma improved?

Hi all, I was a day-one purchaser of the Kobo Forma, having adored the Aura One. I returned the Forma in favour of the Oasis 2, as the Forma felt cheap; it's buttons felt soft and tacky and the screen had some weird light inconsistencies. Two years later, has this been rectified? I don't love the Oasis 2; I find it hard to hold and actually wish I could find the Aura One again.

Night Bird Baby

A sleeping baby is a beautiful sight. The lowest bird is made of an angora blend so is fuzzy and soft. The other 3 birds, and the hat, are all cashmere; also soft :-) This morning I finished and delivered my 100th scrub cap- I’ll have to make a lot more to put a dent in my fabric stash! Going forward, I will be spending more time on my own artwork but will also continue to make the caps as they are needed.

Daily Prime - Combiner Wars Battle Core Thunderclash Custom

Hey hey, Gents! Time for another snapshot from my Optimus Prime collection of decades past. Now for something completely different. The Transformers Combiner Wars Battle Core Optimus Prime illustrates a very subtle but complicated aspect of collecting the Optimus Prime character. The many reuses of the toy molds and related characters can make it hard to decide what to collect and not.

New Kobo: Nia

Not sure if this is news or should be in the Kobo forum. If it should be moved, please feel free. This comes from Good e-Reader, so consider the source. But: The Kobo Nia e-reader is out soon Details are non-existent. Speculation is that it will be a low end replacement for the Aura 2 or maybe the Clara. Those would make sense. If this is finally a 6" Kobo that is both waterproof and has color changing light, I'll buy it (once the first wave is out and all Kobo's usual flaws are fixed:p).
