Simple Closet Organizing Hacks to Get the Job Done

The following is a guest post with simple closet organizing hacks from regular contributor, Morgan from Morganize with Me . Well, with a little more time on my hands, or should I say a lot more time on my hands, I decided to tackle my son’s closet. This was a bit of a spring cleaning/reorganizing project that was a very much overdue! As with most storage spaces, this was the perfect example of out of sight out equals out of mind. Thankfully, Connor gave me permission. So off to work I ...

Floating Dystopia

Early in the whole Covid-19 apocalypse there was a lot of coverage of various cruise ships being forced to roam the oceans looking for a port that would admit them and allow their passengers to disembark. All those situations have pretty much resolved, and the passengers have flown home with tales to tell of being cooped up in their floating hotel rooms. The crews, however, are still aboard, and they don't live in floating hotel rooms..."Most ships returned to sea after offloading paying customers...

Community spread earlier than previously presumed.

Post mortem testing on Californians who died in early February moves back the start date for community spread:"The two in California had no known travel histories to China or anywhere else that would have exposed them to the virus, Dr. Sara Cody, the county's chief medical officer, told The New York Times. They are presumed to have caught the virus through community spread, she told the Times." [Author: Tam]

Removing Factory Pre-installed Fonts?

Hi all fellow Boox users, Just started to use my Max 3 and found that there are 40 pages of factory pre-installed fonts in the default reader, 99% of them are Noto family. Would love to remove them and keeping those I would really use only. Any advice? Have rooted the device and tried to locate those fonts in the root without success -_-. Thanks really lots.

Experimentation Works, by Stefan H. Thomke

I can't remember who recommended this book but I'm glad they did. I'm talking about Experimentation Works by Stefan H. Thomke. The subtitle sums it up quite well: The surprising power of business experiments. I'm still fairly early in this one but here are a few of my favorite highlights so far: At Booking.com all employees can define a hypothesis and launch an experiment on millions of users without permission from management. Even though the business world glorifies disruptive ideas, most pro...

Minneapolis Man Charged With Murder After Fatally Shooting Girlfriend’s Baby Daddy As He Dropped Kids Off

A Minneapolis man is facing a murder charge after police say he shot and killed the father of his girlfriend’s children while the victim was dropping the kids off to visit their mother. According to a criminal complaint, police were called Sunday night (Apr. 19) to an apartment building in Maple Grove, where they found a 31-year-old adult male dead on the kitchen floor with three gunshot wounds—two to the chest and one to the abdomen. The children’s mother told police prior to the victim arrivin...

TFB Review: 5.11 Sabre 2.0 Jacket after SEVEN Years

Trudeau’s Reaction to Nova Scotia Killings One of Jumping at ‘Opportunity’

In fairness, Canada’s PM doesn’t disapprove of ALL guns… (Justin Trudeau/Facebook) U.S.A. – -(Ammoland.com)- “Justin Trudeau is pushing for stricter Canadian gun laws after deadly shooting in Nova Scotia,” CNN gushes approvingly in a Tuesday report. “Trudeau said while campaigning last year that he wanted to ban assault-style weapons across Canada and set up a buyback program for all military-grade weapons that had been legally purchased. Legislation was about to be introduced when Parliament...

Oasis 8 & Voyage questions

I have the Voyage reader and both generations of the 7" screen Oasis but never owned the original 6" G8 Oasis. Other than the ultra light weight, without cover, did it have any features that the Voyage did not? Reading the description it looks like the Oasis had more screen lighting LEDs, auto rotation and initially some added font choices but I believe the fonts were added to the Voyage by a firmware update. I never noted uneven screen illumination on the Voyage as a problem. The Oasis lost...

Wheelgun Wednesday: Throwback Smith & Wesson Model 10 .38 Special

The Smith & Wesson Model 10 has a storied history because of its run for over 53 years as a cataloged model, but also because there was a model that preempted it as well. Canada Rampage Proof Gun Control Won’t Prevent Tragedies

Alan Gottlieb and the CCRKBA argue that Canada's strict gun control is ineffective. U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)-The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms today said the weekend rampage in Nova Scotia provided more proof that strict gun control laws will not prevent determined individuals from committing mayhem. Authorities now say at least 22 people were killed, as more victims have been discovered by investigators. Many were apparently killed in their own homes while obeying “stay...

Wild Wednesday - Who Says You Can't Herd Cats

Time again for WILD WEDNESDAY when we look at WILD REPAINTS from the past! Watching the last two seasons of Cyberverse reminded me of how many times that poor kitty, Cheetor, has been made over. From the start, the season one Beast Wars character shared his, albeit larger, form with Tigatron. Things have only gotten stranger since.

(help) Cannot change e-book viewer kb shortcuts

Hello everyone; Sounds.. basic, but i can't figure it out and Google has not been of help. I wish to change the default keyboard shortcuts for Calibre's e-book viewer, but as per title, i can't. Again, specifically for the viewer module, not calibre per se. Going to 'Preferences' -> 'Keyboard Shortcuts' and switching from default to custom doesn't seem to do anything, be it for no key or another key. No changes that i make are saved; the viewer sticks to the default shortcuts no matter what. - ...

How Transforming My Apartment Into an Indoor Farm Turned Into a Very Bad Idea

A little over a year ago, I came up with an idea for story to turn my apartment into an indoor garden. This ended up being a terrible idea, though in my defense it was late January, and I was hoping the addition of greenery could inject some vitality back into those bleak, dreary days, while also serving as a way to…Read more...

Warning Take Action Call Protest United States – -(AmmoLand.com)- Even during the current pandemic, some anti-Second Amendment extremists are looking for ways to attack our rights. Well, unfortunately, Representative Mike Quigley (D-IL) has stepped up in this regard. Loyal Ammoland readers would be familiar with this name, as a past piece of legis...

Lawrence Wright’s pandemic thriller ‘The End of October’ is arriving during a real-life outbreak

When Lawrence Wright sent the final draft of his pandemic thriller to his publisher in July 2019, it was a novel built on facts and research, but still a story born of the author’s imagination. Six months later, “The End of October” began to sound like current events. There’s no escaping that the story Wright tells, which began as a screenplay project a decade or so ago, has so many parallels to the novel coronavirus pandemic that it makes for uncanny reading at times — even for its author. “It’...
