DA/SA Solution

View this post on Instagram Carry gun for 2020: A @grayguns modified @sigsauerinc #sp2022 #9mm in a @miltsparksholsters #summerspecial IWB holster. A post shared by Tamara Keel (@tamarakeel) on Apr 26, 2020 at 6:36pm PDT The eventual plan is to move to a Keepers Concealment AIWB holster, but first I need to diet off the "Covid nineteen".All things considered, I probably liked the P30L better than the SP2022, but after both were slick...

Double the Storage, Redux

Digging deeper, it appears that at least one of the ad hoc Kodak DSLRs prior to the DSC-14n had dual card slots. This was the DSC-7xx series, which were built in 1999-2001 off of Nikon F5 chassis. They were 6MP cameras back in the day when that was a crazy high resolution for digital cameras, and featured a brace of Compact Flash slots, blowing my theory for the original reason behind dual slots.Of course, back in that time period, 128MB and 512MB Compact Flash cards were exotic and expensive and...

How do I get the book descriptions included when sending e books by email or by transferring from my Calibre library to my kindle e reader. I get author, titles, covers, contents etc but not the book description.

Calibre Metadata & Plugboard Questions

Hi Everyone, I had a few quick questions if you don't mind. 1 - In the series column, I assume the book # is being referenced in between the brackets? Where is Calibre pulling that info from? i.e. The Wheel of Time [10] 2 - I added a custom field "reading_order". What would be the proper format to use in Plugboard so the file is uploaded to my Kindle Paperwhite (gen 10) as "reading order" - "book name" (series name)? i.e. 02 - The Great Hunt (Wheel of Time) 3 - As a test, I changed the titl...

New Mexico Reverting to Old Mexico?

New Mexico Reverting to Old Mexico? U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- It seems that politicians and their medical advisors have lost sight of the objectives of social distancing. While they still speak in terms of “flattening the curve,” their actions appear to be more focused on eradicating the curve altogether. While that might be a noble goal, it’s not particularly realistic, and it’s not what we the people signed up for. Recall that the point of “flattening the curve” was to prevent the novel Chin...

Is there a faster way to mark a book finished from the file browser without opening?

I feel like I'm probably missing something really obvious here but the only way I've found to mark a book as completed in my library is to open it up and then there's multiple ways to do so from within the book itself. But opening each book individually, then re-opening the menus to get to the proper option takes so long when there's a lot of books I need to mark... Is there a faster way to do this? Figured I'd finally get around to marking all my old completed books in KOReader. Most devices...

POTD: Russian-Pakistani Forces in “Friendship-2018”

Looking at the picture above, I think this is a locally produced Pakistani version of the Russian DShK mounted on top an M113 Armored Personnel Carrier. These photos show the final stage of the joint Russian-Pakistani exercise “Friendship-2018”, and they are part of today’s Photo Of The Day.   M113 Armored Personnel Carrier vs. Brick Wall […] Read More … The post POTD: Russian-Pakistani Forces in “Friendship-2018” appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

Can Calibre be prevented from merging files with the same name during import?

I've got several thousand files that have been automatically merged and I've not managed to find a way to prevent this from happening. Automerge is unchecked in Add Books. The best, least labour-intensive workaround I've got so far is to start the import again but duplicate the directory, delete all but the .pdfs from one copy and then delete all the .pdfs from the other copy. Import the .pdfs version, rename the folders so the non-.pdfs version has the same directory as the first imported fold...

Sharing quotes in Goodreads for sideloaded books

Hey guys I have a question which I posted over here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=329260 but seems like nobody answers to that, so I would like to ask the people here and hopefully I would have more luck. I feel genuinely bad for duplicating the question, but dont know what would be the right procedure. Of course I respect the rules here, so please let me know if I should act differently. Let me copy the question: Hi guys, desperate for help here. Is there a way to share s...

Weekend Reading 4.26.20

Hello friends, happy Sunday to you all. It’s day 42 of quarantine for us here in the Bay Area. I feel as if there are people out there that are close to cracking. Many are feeling anxious about the uncertainty of the world and a little crazy being cooped up indoors so this is a time when we need to take pressure off of ourselves. So what if we’re not being productive, so what if we’re not learning that new language or instrument or writing that book or whatever lofty plans we may have had a mont...

Formatting Troubleshooting

Hi! I would like to know if its possible to adjust the space between the indent and the word so it becomes more uniform. See the red circle in this picture. Some option in calibre, maybe? This book is in .kfx format. If here is not the place to post this, i'm sorry and would be glad if someone could tell me where i should address this "problem". Thank you! Attached Thumbnails

MacOS Catalina and ADE 2.0

I was about to upgrade to MacOS Catalina (10.15) when I got a dialog box saying that ADE 2.0 was not optimized and wouldn't open under OSX Catalina. I use ADE 2.0.1 to authorize and download ePUBs to my Mac for purchases and library books. I don't want to use ADE 4.5 because of the (possible) DRM issues. Also I have concerns about using Sigil after the upgrade. Is there another route and should I be using it? I want to stay with ePUB because I like to repair errors in my ebooks and sometimes I ...

Can't download HTML ebooks

Hi, just installed Calibre for the first time. I'm trying to download some books, such as Dune, but it seems that I get errors whenever I try to download an HTML formatted book. Other formats seem to work fine however. PRS-T1 PRS-T1 run from SD card / UART recovery from broken internal flash

After close to 10 years, my PRS-T1 finally had its internal eMMC flash fail. Not sure if it weared out, or if I messed up something as I was just doing some hacking when it happened. Anyway, the end result is that it just kept blinking yellow light, wouldn't go into recovery and wouldn't boot. I opened it up and probed until I found serial port (UART) testpoints on the backside of the PCB. They are the three corner points in a group of 3x4 testpoints, shown in image below: Connecting them to...

Customize "Lookup/search word"?

Is there a way to modify the behaviour of the "Lookup/search word" function in the viewer? Options that would be nice to have:Customizeable search engineLike how browsers such as firefox handle customizing what the default search engine is, with a default vs. custom radio button choice and custom being a link such as http://example.com/search?q=%s where %s later gets replaced by the search term The option of choosing between the present implementation as a sidebar and just opening the link in t...

FPC: Vermont’s Constitution Protects “Large Capacity” Magazines

Lancer L5 Advanced Warfighter Magazine U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- Today, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) and Firearms Policy Foundation (FPF) announced the filing of an important legal brief in the Vermont Supreme Court regarding the State of Vermont’s ban on so-called “large-capacity” magazines. The brief, joined by the Cato Institute and Independence Institute, argues that Vermont’s history and tradition proves that so-called “large capacity” magazines are protected by the Vermont Constitutio...

Primary Arms 5x ACSS Gen 2 Prism Scope Review

The Primary Arms 5x ACSS Compact Prism Scope is available in both black and FDE. U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- When it comes to combat optics, there is a misconception that shooters need to spend big money to get a quality scope. This is partially fueled by the legendary durability of Trijicon ACOGs that normally run around $1,000 since they were among the first combat scopes to gain widespread use among civilian shooters. And while offerings from Trijicon is very nice, they're often outside the fin...

Optimal for reading in the dark without blue light, dimmable 3. Physical buttons 4. Hackable/Jailbreakable/Rootable 5. Waterproof 4 Nice-to-Haves 1. small (5") e-reader rec?

ok, giving it more thought, I'd really like a 5" basic e-reader. I like the portability, and just need a basic epub reader with front light, if it exists. What I DO want: e-ink, 5" (or 4.5"?), front light. What I DON'T want/need: SD card (ebooks don't take up much storage!!), touchscreen (ok if it has one tho), audio, dictionary, notes, etc. So, does a simple small epub e-reader with front light exist? if so, please point me in that direction! Thx!!
