Worth it jumping from the Kindle Paperwhite (4th gen) to Kobo Libra H2O

Hi All, I've been using a Kindle of some sort for ten years now. For the most part, I like it a lot, but small things have always bothered me a little bit. And, looking at the Kobo Libra H2O it seems to answer a lot of my small problems with the Kindle, so I am writing this post to get some advice. First, I will talk about how I currently use my Kindle. I tend to keep Airplane mode on at all times, and sideload books using Calibre. I have books that I have gotten from places like Tor (the sf ...

Reformatting Glowlight 3 usb storage

I recently had my usb storage (the emulated drive that gets exposed to the computer over USB when sideloading content) get corrupted due to a bad USB cable. Somehow, instead of just corrupting the file system, it managed to take the whole partition table with it. While I could have just factory-reset the device, I was hopping to avoid setting everything up again. Fortunately, I had access to a non-corrupted one I could use for reference. Here's what I discovered, in case it's useful for someone ...

“Why are writers afraid of social networks?”

By Arantza Méndez-AguirrePaulo Coelho needs no introduction or whatsoever sort of ceremony, and neither do all his personal achievements and professional rewards in life. Scale 1:1’s 3-in-1 Nomad Sport Table

For those soon to go back to the office, Scale 1:1’s 3-in-1 Nomad Sport Table is a wise choice. This is a smart and functional product that embodies the mantra “Work together. Play together.” The work component involves a lightweight and mobile conference table with rolling casters and a modern, vibrant aesthetic. There’s also the presto-chango feature that quickly morphs Nomad into a versatile whiteboard. From my perspective, the third function is the outright winne...

Troubleshooting Can't connect to wikipédia in embedded window

Hi all, I am experiencing quite an annoying issue with my kindle Basic 2 (2016). It doesn't show wikipédia content in an embedded window anymore. It used to work fine: selecting some term(s) in the book would open an embedded window with either a dictionary, a translator or wikipédia. Recently, the wikipédia tab stopped working and keeps showing : "An error occurred. Please try again" (Not sure it is that recent though. I hadn't touched my kindle for a while before today) Some additional in...

Molecules: The Elements and the Architecture of Everything

In 2009, Theodore Gray blew minds with his gorgeously photographed book, The Elements: A Visual Exploration of Every Known Atom in the Universe, which sold over a million copies. Five years later, Gray has created this book, which describes what happens when elements are snapped together to make molecules, and the result is a masterpiece (thanks in no small part to Nick Mann’s drool-inducing photographs). Gray organizes the book by categories of molecules — inorganic, organic, acids, bases, soap...

Opinion, Rex reviews the Ultradyne C4 Precision Folding Front & Rear Sights. Please help me with my choice!

Hello there, my good people! I already have a very nice Android tablet I use for reading color comics. Although it's very nice for that purpose, the eye strain is real with the backlight. I tried reading e-books and manga on it, but the eye strain for me is even worse, because of the predominant white color on both cases. Because of that, I'm looking for a 7.8" or 8" e-reader. My tablet has a 10.5" screen and, at least for me, it's too big for most manga. That's why I'm looking for a screen arou...
