Canon rumors...

A Canon rumor site claims that a new "high-end" EF-M camera is going to be announced.I mean, if Canon really is planning to stick with the M as its crop-sensor mirrorless platform going forward this would make sense.I think a four- or five-tier M-lineup is probably overly dense, given the parlous state of even the pre-Covid market. A return to an equivalent of the early three-tier digital days of the "1D/10D/300D" might be more prudent. So are they going to release a mirrorless equivalent of the...

Daily Prime - The Pocket Bogies Optimus Slime

You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose. But you can't pick your friend's nose. Today's Optimus Prime shot is one of the yuckier figures in my collection. Not just, gross yuck, but funny yuck, yuck too. The Optimus Slime figure comes from a toy series that gets around licensing through the legitimate use of parody to copy well-known pop culture icons.

Fight the brush!

Nikon D3 & 24-120mm f/4 @ ISO 3200...and look at the size of those feets! Holden was being brushed. Sometimes the brush has to be attacked a little bit. Just before this photo was snapped, he'd actually succeeded in snatching the brush away from Roberta Ecks and was giving it a good kicking. By the time I got back with the camera, Bobbi had retreived the brush.Soon Bobbi will undertake the quarantine project of knitting another cat from Holden's sheddings. . [Author: Tam]

Progress bar with chapter markers?

I finally upgraded from my Kindle Keyboard to the latest Basic. I can't seem to figure out how to get the progress bar back on the bottom of the page. I'm hoping I'm just dumb and can't figure it out because missing this feature would be really disappointing. This is the bar I'm talking about: https://sgwproductimages.azureedge.n...171716pdis.jpg Additionally, is there a way to force Mobis to accept custom fonts? I've grown attached to Literata and since my Keyboard was jailbroken I could use...

POTD: The One-Millionth SIG Sauer P320

Our Photo today is very clean. It’s a picture of the SIG Sauer P320 with serial number 58H1000000. Not only the serial number makes this gun unique. As it’s the one-millionth P320, the grips are hand-cut in granite and the high-gloss polished surface finishing has some 14k gold inlays. The P320 is a modern, modular pistol […] Read More … The post POTD: The One-Millionth SIG Sauer P320 appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

American Suppressor Silencer Stache Competition, Vote Now!

American Suppressor Silencer Stache Competition ATLANTA, GA — -(AmmoLand.com)- With the world at home because of ‘Rona, we’re all looking for ways to distract ourselves from the fact that we’re essentially under house arrest. In times like these, the world generally turns to sports as an escape from reality. However, 2020 clearly has it out for us all. While the American Suppressor Association can’t bring back sports, we can certainly bring back good old-fashioned competition! Starting May 1...

Midwest Industries MI-CBUIS Fixed Combat BUIS Review

Midwest Industries MI-CBUIS BUIS works great on firearms with otherwise fragile irons, like this IWI X95 Tavor equipped with Saker 762 sound suppressor provided by SilencerShop. U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- When I first got into modern sporting rifles like the AR-15 in 2004, the backup iron sight (or BUIS) market was very limited. LMT had a set, so did Knights Armorment, and plenty of people simply cut down detachable carry handles. And while all of these worked, more and more companies entered the...

Trouble to install Sigil

Hi, I am new in this forum and I am a new user of Sigil. I downloaded Sigil-1.2.0-Windows-x64 on a desktop with Windows 10 and installed it. When I open it, the windows is blank or white with nothing in it. When I click where the menu is supposed to be, the menu options pop-up. I enclosed screenshots of it. I remove it including the sigil-ebook folder in the AppData folder. I did a sfc /scannow, I made sure I have Microsoft Visual C++ 2017. I re-installed Sigil and again I have the same issue...

Italy in Bocca – how rare cookbooks with cardboard covers inspired a food film

Roberto Serrini, an editor and filmmaker, and Peter Boggia, a motorcycle mechanic, are two friends from Queens with a shared love of books and food, particularly authentic Italian cuisine. Inspired by a series of rare cardboard-bound, handwritten cookbooks published in 1976 by a small Italian publisher called Edizone Il Vespro, Roberto and Peter have made a short documentary film called Italy in Bocca. Roberto Serrini (left) and Peter Boggia (Pic: italyinbocca.com) The ...

Press Internet Browser key make the viewer scrolling

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a way to disable the macro associated with the Internet Browser key (which is part of the multimedia keys on a classic keyboard) in the Ebook Viewer. The problem is the conflict: If I press the key, it both opens a window in my browser (e.g. Firefox) and makes Ebook Viewer scrolling to the top, exactly the first page of the current chapter of the book. But I don't want my book scrolling.

Weekend Reading 5.3.20

I woke up in a good mood, but it shifted when I started reading the articles and posts coming from everywhere, all of them laden with the rising tension among people that is escalating with the ongoing quarantine. There are endless opinions and cautionary statistics stacked up against people’s desires to open businesses and exercise daily freedoms. It’s enough to make anyone feel blue. But I know better than to keep reading too much of the news or all the Facebook posts. Instead, I do the thing...

With No New Leadership Options, an Uncertain Future Lies Ahead for NRA

Opinion With No New Leadership, an Uncertain Future Lies Ahead for National Rifle Association USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- For almost a decade I’ve been asking people in the firearms and Second Amendment community to seriously consider who might take over as Executive Vice President of the NRA if Wayne LaPierre were to retire or be hit by a bus. About 6 years ago I got really serious about that question and was raising the issue in my regular columns, then 3 and a half years ago, after the electio...

PW4 Sox Media Player KUAL extension initial release

This is the initial relase of the Sox Media Player KUAL extension. It utilizes the bluetooth audio support available in the PW4 and other newer model kindles to play local and internet media. Inspection of some of the audio support files leads me to expect it to work on models with USB audio as well, but I don't have a model to test this on. Any media Sox knows about should be playable. Note, AAC is NOT supported! See README.txt for further instructions. Dave ...

FL Threatened with Lawsuit After Nikki Fried Cancels CW Applications

Fried seems full of great ideas – laws and ruled be damned. U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Nikki Fried, Florida's anti-gun Commissioner of Agriculture clearly violated Florida law and pretended to have authority she is specifically denied by statute [f.s.790.06(15)].  She knew it. She was even formally asked to stop it by Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody.  Imagine the waste of State tax dollars if Nikki Fried's conduct results in a lawsuit against the State when the Attorney General is already o...

NRA on Former VP Biden: On Guns, Joe Biden Is Full Of It

Biden standing at a podium labeled, “Beat the NRA with Biden” presumably yelling unintelligibly about AR-14 clip-a-zines, firing shotguns in the air,or defending himself against allegations of sexual harassment. U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Presumptive Democratic 2020 presidential nominee Joe Biden is not one for clarity, tact, or a firm grasp of the facts. However, even an American public that has long been aware of his shortcomings was taken aback in early March when the former vice president lau...

Is there an email app for the Kobo?

Is there any way to email out from Kobo? There's a decent sale on the Kobo Clara HD here in Canada and I'm looking to pick one up, but I'd like to be able to email highlights (whether using built-in reader, or koreader, etc.) to [email protected] I'm fairly tech-savvy (work in IT) so I'm happy to implement something technically challenging, as long as the process for actually emailing is relatively easy/simple. I assume it won't be as simple as highlight and Share like it is on Android devices, ...

Book: The End of October

I took a digital sabbath yesterday. I ended up doing three things. Read The End of October by Lawrence WrightTook a napWatched three episodes of Breaking Bad I feel so much better than I did at the end of the day Friday. After I finish this blog post, I’m going to participate in the Emerge Family Virtual 5k. The End of October was intense. It’s the story of a modern day pandemic. It’s fiction, but deeply researched. I have no idea how much was modified to suit the actual reality, but gi...

I had to switch from OneDrive to Google Drive due to the extra space Google Drive provides and I discovered this information afterwards. Does anyone keep the Calibre Library in Google Drive?
