How to Set Up an Emergency Preparedness Binder + Free Printable

The following is a guest post about how to set up an emergency preparedness binder from regular contributor, Kristin at The Gold Project .  Being prepared in case of an emergency is never a bad thing. When I think of an emergency, the first thing that pops into my head is losing my house to a fire or natural disaster. But, there are many other reasons why an emergency preparedness binder is a good thing to have in your home. Let me start by saying I would not recommend storing this bi...

Converting Go (Igo, Baduk) ePub to AZW3/Mobi

I have bought the first two books in the Learn to Play Go series from gobooks.com and imported them into Calibre. It has no problem displaying the books in ePub format. When I try to convert the books into AZW3 to read on my kindle, some of the diagrams in book don't render properly. On some pages the board is shown but none of the star points (small dots on the board) or actual go stones are rendered to the screen. I've tried to embed the fonts from the ePub using the embed fonts setting, thin...

TFB Review: Daniel Defense DD5 V5

Daniel Defense recently added three new upgraded versions to their DD5 lineup.  This expanded the DD5’s lineup in terms of barrel length, caliber, and overall features.  This overhaul makes the DD5 series of rifles more attune to the customer’s needs.  Keen to try out the latest and greatest, I asked Daniel Defense if I could review the […] Read More … The post TFB Review: Daniel Defense DD5 V5 appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

Paperwhite 3 power button HACK [MOD]

I have successfully hacked my Paperwhite 3 to have a black power button. I don't think has ever been done successfully. Yes the power button still works 100% and no it wasn't painted. It makes the bottom of the device look MUCH more symmetrical. Also Amazon GIVE US 5.12.5 for the pw3 I would be happy to write a guide if anybody is interested. This hack doesn't take more than 1-2 hours.

How can I substitute Pocket for Moon Reader?

Hey everyone, I use Pocket to read news and articles, but lately it seems limiting when compared to Moon Reader. I want a Random Article button, and to change fonts and backgrounds, and Pocket either doesn't have these features or keeps them behind a Premium subscription. My thought process then went "I should just save the html of the article, or even download it as epub with some extension, and read it on MoonReader". Unfortunately, its been easier said than done. Pocket is great at taking...

Daily Prime - Gummy Candy Optimus Prime Treats You Should Not Eat

If aliens landed on Earth today, they would be puzzled by our fixation with gummy candy. Optimus Prime is no exception. Truth be told, Transformers found it's way into licensing at all levels of childhood with all kinds of sweet treats being made for Generation 1, most notable being the Transformers Ice Cream.

Audible update adds Collections & Genres

iOS Audible v3.24.1 (and Android Audible 2.25.0) haV added ability to organize by Genre or create Collections, finally. I don’t see this on Fire, maybe because Collections can contain both Books and Audiobooks, whereas the Audible app has now created an independent set of collections. However, the Filters (All, Not Started, Started, Downloaded, Finished) can’t be applied in Genre or Collection views. Also the Finished label is now grey instead of orange, rendering it more difficult to see. M...

My device that has Calibre Companion installed is having an issue with Ver. 5.4.4.7 (398). Jailbroken PW4; managed to bork up KUAL access, seeing "application error"

I found a way to break things :P I was trying to fix kual not seeming to pickup new extensions I had put in the extensions directory and so I; 1) Tried updating via putting Update_KUALBooklet_hotfix_v2.7.23_install.bin in /mnt/us/mrpackages ;; then ran log; mrpi 2) That didn't seem to work so I ran the Update_KUALBooklet_v2.7.23_uninstall.bin via mrpi. This resulted in a KUAL booklet staying. 3) I tried installing (step #1) again, and this seemed to work but I don't see any new kual.cfg in /mnt/...

Wheelgun Wednesday: Smith & Wesson 25-2 (1955 Target Model) .45 ACP

On this week’s Wheelgun Wednesday we are throwing it back once again to what appears to be a familiar revolver, but in fact is something unlikely. At first glance you might think this looks like a vintage Model 29 or Model 27 from Smith & Wesson which are fairly common and desirable, but it is […] Read More … The post Wheelgun Wednesday: Smith & Wesson 25-2 (1955 Target Model) .45 ACP appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

Playskool Go-Bots Transformers Cheetor Repaints - Wild Wednesday!

I got so much feedback on what cats to include in the last Wild Wednesday, that I had to dig into the other great Transformers cats I have to share. I really cannot believe I forgot about the Playskool Big Adventures / Go-Bots Cheetor figure and all the neat things Hasbro did with it. In addition to the original 2002 Cheetor, the mold was used again in 2003 for Tigatron, an obvious homage to "Tony the Tiger" that's just GREAT! Next, the 2003 K-Mart exclusive Beast-Bot II in unexplained colors.

The new font-size slider in the viewer is very nice. I like how it shows size numerically. It also retains a clickable selection of sizes across the top. Very nice! 4.15 is elegant. Best regards, Pop Attached Thumbnails

‘Harry Potter at Home’ Summons Daniel Radcliffe to Read ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’

Daniel Radcliffe will always be thankful for his time spent leading the Harry Potter franchise, but the actor is undoubtedly happy to have moved on from the wizarding world. The multi-billion dollar franchise has afforded him a lot of freedom to take on whatever roles he wants, whether it’s a peculiar indie like Swiss Army Man or a wild action thriller Guns Akimbo. But in these uncertain times, Daniel Radcliffe realizes everyone needs a little inspiration, which is why he’s taken the time to ge...

Below The Radar: Restoring The Armed Career Criminal Act

Below The Radar: Restoring The Armed Career Criminal Act United States – -(AmmoLand.com)- Sometimes, legislation is kept under the radar because if the legislation is passed, it might actually solve the problem. Anti-Second Amendment extremists and their allies in the media really don’t want Americans to know that certain provisions already exist in the law. After all, if the American people did know, they'd probably be much less receptive to infringements on our Second Amendment rights. One ...

Kinetic Breaching Tool – Breaching Ram and Firearm Hybrid

When it comes to door breaching tools, the two most popular options are probably the breaching/battering ram which thanks to its mass and operator’s physical strength simply kicks the doors open or the breaching shotgun that shoots the hinges and locks off. However, there is a device, the Kinetic Breaching Tool by Kinetic Breaching Technology, which […] Read More … The post Kinetic Breaching Tool – Breaching Ram and Firearm Hybrid appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

Daniel Radcliffe Reads Harry Potter to Us

If there’s one thing this pandemic has taught us, it’s that we really like it when celebrities read to us. Actor Josh Gad was among the first (and he’s still at it!). I'm able to surf using the Beta browser and sync Pocket articles and books. But, say, an hour later, it disconnects and I have to re-enter the password. Is this normal?

U.S. Outlier in Mass Public Shooting Events, or Singular Mass Shooters?

International Firearms Ownership and Homicides U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- In 2016 Adam Lankford of the University of Alabama, published a paper examining the distribution of mass shooting/mass shooters around the world. Flea market find end table make-over with Deco Adhesive

I picked up this drawer cabinet at a flea market over a year ago! I thought it was cute but couldn't decide how to decorate it so it just sat in storage. Duck Brand sent us some samples of their Deco Adhesive and inspiration finally struck. I loved the basketweave type pattern on this removable adhesive liner. Before I added the liner, I needed to paint the drawers. I used ColorShot Marshmallow to give a glossy, even coat. I used Americana Decor Outdoor Living to add a touch of color to t...
