Content DXG How to send to Kindle

Hello friends! I want to send a book to the Kindle over the network. My Kindle DX is equipped with a 3G module. I send books in pdf, doc, epub, mobi format to my @ kindle.com mailbox. Books appear in my account under "manage content and device" in the "docs" section. But they do not come to my Kindle. What am I doing wrong? I buy books at Amazon and they appear on my Kindle instantly. But the books I sent do not appear in the device’s memory. Every time I send a book, I get a letter "Your Ama...

Using {comments} in Cover Generation

Hi all, I did some digging and didn't see any topics about this, but I'm not so good with Calibre's template language or html so this might be a dumb question. I'm trying to get Calibre cover generator to display the text from the book's comments field in the cover's subtitle area. I tried simply using "{comments}" and that seems to work... except the cover displays and html tags also. Here's an imgur link to an example picture: https://imgur.com/a/vzY8BBZ Anyone know if this is solvable?

Ok, so I have been adding to the comments in books to have data from the columns, and it has been working pretty good so far. I have been using the copy/replace to use templates that look a bit like this: Most Frequent Words: {#mfw}Original File Name: {#original_file_name} Booksource: {#booksource} Date Added: {#dateadded}GR Average Rating: {#gr1} Pages: {#pages} Word: {#word}Tags: {tags}Genre: {#genre} Comments: While it looks fine in the book details page and when I use them for catalo...

TFB Review: Leupold Performance Eyewear – Packout Edition

Leupold has recently launched its Performance Eyewear line of glasses. As a designer and manufacturer of high-quality optics, this is a bit of a departure from their normal product line up. However, I’m willing to give almost anything a shot, and Leupold generously sent out a pair of “Packout” style glasses for testing and evaluation. Daily Prime - MegaSCF Cybertron Commander Convoys

With the announcement of the Transformers R.E.D. series today, I was instantly reminded of the non-transforming MegaSCF toys that Takara made in 2002. The 5-inch tall figures were a premium edition of the 3-inch SCF toys, only these were articulated and included lots of accessories for each character.

Wheelgun Wednesday: The Happy Medium – S&W Model 60

Model 60; Stainless Painless (For the shooter, that is…) I spent a number of years carrying the S&W 340PD as a jogging/backup gun.  Those years were painful ones at the range.  I try to train with at least 100 rounds of full power defensive ammo in my carry pieces.  Therefore I often bloodied the web […] Read More … The post Wheelgun Wednesday: The Happy Medium – S&W Model 60 appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

Hello all

Hello, my name is Nicolas I just realize I already posted with:shame:out having introduced myself :shame: I'm a French guy working in Japan. I ended on MobileRead while searching for an ebook with high resolution, Android app friendly, with a stylus and a handwriting recognition feature, a backlight and reasonable screen size to carry anywhere. There are not so many readers meeting those requirements. Thank to this forum, I chose the Boox Nova Pro (used). Then I don't mind anymore about sc...

saving virtual libraries and copy rules

SO I spent a lot of time really organizing my copy/search/replace rules, as well as my virtual library rules, is there a way of saving them and copying them into other libraries? I understand that the search/replace rules are global, but if I import a new/old library and want to keep the rules I just spent hours setting up, is there a way of doing it? Also, the same with virtual libraries (I know they are library specific, but I have a set of "non-denomiational" rules that I would like to add.

Why The Reverse Paradox Tube is NOT a Firearms Silencer

Opinion: Why The Reverse Paradox Tube is NOT a Firearms Silencer Arizona -(Ammoland.com)- In the previous article about the reverse paradox tube, there was a comment that the BATFE might consider the tube to be a silencer. Legally, the reverse paradox tube is not a silencer. The law is clear, and there is considerable precedent as to why this is so. The definition of a silencer, in the law, is in 18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(3): (24)  The terms “firearm silencer” and “firearm muffler” mean any device f...

Below The Radar: Accidental Firearms Transfers Reporting Act

Below The Radar: Accidental Firearms Transfers Reporting Act New York – -(AmmoLand.com)-There is bad legislation intended to harm our rights. That sort of legislation, like, say, banning and buying back modern multi-purpose semi-automatic rifles, is easy to decide to oppose, and easy to call what it is. Other laws can be bad because they address a problem in a manner that infringes on our rights rather than use existing laws on the books. See various gun trafficking laws, like the Prevent Gun...

Apple's Books/iBooks: "in this chapter" "in this book" display

Hi, Guys: Jesus, what a nightmare. I have this client that REFUSES to believe that the footer info in Books, f/k/a iBooks, is created by the reading app, on the fly. Now he's in a swivet because HE sees "'x pages left," and not "X pages left in this chapter," which is what he wants (in all upper-case, mind you). Does anybody, anywhere, have a definitive, up-to-date reference on this? The usual suspects, search engines, are surprisingly quiet about this. I have the latest 2019, I think it ...

The Clarys Review Frankford Arsenal’s Electronic Powder Scale

When precision really matters, reloaders need quality powder scales like this digital model from Frankford Arsenal. IMG Frankford Arsenal U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- The last time we checked, there were at least a dozen electronic powder measure dispensers on the market. They ranged in price from $200 to $500. Most all of them are reliable (or they wouldn't still be on the market), and differ only in their physical appearance and their degree of precision. Most will measure and dispense loads to w...

Uncle Mike’s Canvas Holsters – Review

Unfortunately Uncle Mike's cut corners and started using a plastic belt loop which breaks with little use and will not repair/replace them. Force download for large file size

Is it possible to force downloading books/comics that exceed a certain file size on the server instead of allowing online reading? I have some fairly large comics with file sizes above 1GB which simply doesn't work for online reading and causes problems because the caches reach their quotas. For people who don't know how to clear the cache it can be really irritating because they're unable to read anything else online. On a side note, I've been struggling to display the file size in a human re...

Crappy epubs not showing covers?

Sometimes I see (no book information, too many interruptions or crashing) under an epub this seems to have the title of the book, # of pages, progress and size. But missing the cover page. most of my other epubs seem to have covers so i'm guessing this is just a case of a poor quality epub not rendering as expected. the book opens fine and without issue. the epubs themselves seem to have covers on the first page or so when you open them. not really a huge issue but i do like seeing a see ...

Aura Content import very very slow

Until last Saturday, all was fine : when I unplugged (by ejecting cleanly) Kobo device, the notication "Importing content (in French Importation du contenu)" was displayed during 1 or 2 seconds, then new books appeared immediatly, even when I added several books. ...

Touchscreen function not working properly

Even since I was using the previous version (I think 2.2) of my Note device, I experienced a software malfunction: sometimes the touch function of the screen was not activated. Now with version 2.3 this happens more often. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Could it be from another setting that I had accidentally a...
