Issues with updating alibre in Linux

Hi! I have been using calibre for just a little while, and I just noticed today that it recommended an update. After running the update from the terminal following the website instructions, I could not get calibre to open from the menu tab on my desktop, so I hopped into the terminal to see what was up. How to convert scientific articles from arxiv

Hello everyone, I just came across www.arxiv-vanity.com, but I can't obtain a good epub files from the html pages. In the actual case, I am trying to convert the following: https://www.arxiv-vanity.com/papers/0903.3489/, but the epub has problems with the footnote and, worst, the equations are horrible. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks a lot.

AZW3 files only show in "your items" on Kindle, not Books

I was having problems with book covers showing on my Kindle in mobi format. But converting to AZW3 seems to have solved that issue. But when I view them on my Kindle, they now only show in the "your items" filter and not under "books" Because of this, the books aren't integrating with Good Reads, which used to take me automatically to that title on the good reads website. I also cant long press on a book now and mark it read either. Is there a something I need to change in the conversion or ...

Why are tristate booleans a Calibre-wide setting?

I find it a bit strange that Calibre has a lot of options for custom columns, except for whether a column is bistate or tristate. You can't have both of them in different columns in the same library. :shrug: I suspect it's due to technical limitations rather than a design choice (considering the workaround of "show checkmarks" to make a psuedobool), but why is this?

 Marion County has changed its election procedures this year so that county residents can show up at any polling place in the county. You used to have an assigned polling place for your precinct and both of the last two for our precinct were located on the grounds of churches that also had K-12 schools.Now that we can vote anywhere, the nearest polling place is in a church that doesn't have a K-12 school on the premises.
