Secret Of The Forest Pen And Sketchbook

More Troom Troom inspired stationary! This set has more of an enchanted feel to it. I love how I was able to make a druzy crystal on top of the push pencil with just air dry clay and salt. It was also my first time sculpting "freely" with no original plan other then to make it look like a version of the pen in this video: https://youtu.be/jp4p3klErB0 And the ivy sketchbook was a large minute thought made from a recycled stapled sketchbook. This sketch book was a mix of ideas from Winx club , tr...

Blue Lily Push Pencil

I finally got the guts to make this, despite how big and bulky it would be. I got the idea of using a pencil though from a YouTube channel called Troom Troom. However I didn't want to make a pencil that would just get eaten by the pencil sharpener, so I modified a push pencil to become this! *tag line is lyrics from a parody of Red like roses pt.2 from RWBY (only mine is called blue lilies and it's about a girl whose past self lost her mom, and she sought revenge. Then jumps to her future/prese...

January Kindle Challenge

Anyone else participating? https://www.amazon.com/kindlechallenge It's cute. I have read some said they did not get a $5.00 free ebook credit, some get others options. Mine is showing as the $5.00 credit. The badges are fun when activated/lit up. It's a side thing if you're planning on reading anyway. I don't recall Amazon doing something like this before, although it's possible they have and I missed it. From the page: How it works 1) Find your Kindle Challenge quests below 2) Earn badges fo...

Mobile app for readers

Hi, I’m a big lover of non-fiction books, and need your advice here. I’m currently writing a mobile app, which helps to organize / store valuable information which we read. I was doing it for myself initially, but now want to share with others and collect their opinions in order to make it better. Would it be permitted to share such information within this group? Thanks!

Calibre dies on Linux Mint 20

I've been running calibre for years on ubuntu and linux mint systems. I recently installed it on my Linux Mint 20 system and it dies, not immediately, but within 6-10 hours. I started from command line to see if it would provide any errors, but it merely shows me the command prompt in my terminal when it exits. For comparison, I am running under Fedora as a workaround, and it seems fine, though I'd prefer to use my LM box. Any ideas?

Maybe two bugs

In the "Edit metadata in bulk" window, tab "search and replace", search mode "Regular expression", edit "Search for", does not recognize the "\s" symbol as a generic space, while in regex searches in the calibre editor the "\s" symbol is recognized as expected. If the "Case sensitive" checkbox IS selected, the search does NOT take place respecting upper/lower case; if it is not selected, the search takes place respecting upper/lower case.

First Doll for 2021- a Lumberjack

A ginger-haired beefy lumberjack to start off a new year. I didn’t give him a hat because I like his hair too much to cover it up. Classic toile tattoos on his chest and arms. A nice old button on his belt and embroidered buttons on his shirt.

Calibre stopped seeing all my libraries except the current one

(Using MacOS 10.11.6, Calibre 3.42) I have several calibre libraries, and have been using and switching among them quite smoothly. Now all of a sudden I seem to be "stuck" in my current library ("Nonfiction') and calibre no longer "sees" that there are any other libraries to switch to. Examination of files in the Finder shows all the library folders to be there where they ought to be, also they all seem to have .db files with respectable sizes and no weirdness in their "last modified" dates. Why...

New 10" Likebook P10 from Boyue

Just seen it on the good eReader website: https://goodereader.com/blog/electro...that-costs-279 It's essentially a cheaper version of the Alita (sells for 350$ against 440$). Lower specs: no SD card, lower display resolution (194ppi vs 226ppi), CPU with 4 cores vs 8 cores of Alita. It might make sense for people that just want a bigger Mars but don't want to pay the price of the Alita. For me the absence of the SD card is a deal breaker, as I have a huge collection of comics (much more than 64GB...

New Paperwhite, Old Mac (10.13) and Old Calibre (3.48) and Covers

Just like it says on the tin, I am having difficulty in getting book covers to show up on my brand new Kindle Paperwhite when sideloading books from Calibre to the Kindle via USB. I'm using my old Macbook Air, running High Sierra (10.13) and therefore, Calibre 3.48. I've found many different possible solutions - plugging it in, unplugging it, adding the amazon AISN#, coverting to MOBI, converting to AZW3, and so on. My assumption here is that my computer is too old, my version of Calibre is t...

Adobe drm-system on Kobo

Inspired by NiMa's success with xorg I'm pondering if it's possible to get a practicle solution for a full adobe drm environment on a Kobo. (With that I mean to be able to buy adobe drm ebooks and borrow library ebooks directly from the ereader.) One roundabout way could be to install wine and Sony Reader for PC (or ADE). We got some brilliant people here, can you see a feasable and pragmatic way to make this happen? (FWIW I know plenty of people choosing Pocketbook before Kobo just because ...

How a teen Japanese American football team flourished in a WWII incarceration camp

Author Bradford Pearson’s “The Eagles of Heart Mountain” is a most unusual World War II story. It recounts how 120,000 innocent Japanese Americans were incarcerated by the U.S. government, but also focuses on how a group of teenagers trapped in one of these camps turned themselves into a football team for the ages. They did this while trying to complete high school, studying civics while being unjustly imprisoned by their own government. While the detainment camp was in Wyoming, much of the book...

Regular expressions to normalize the metadata

Many books in my library have titles composed of the actual title and other strings added by the publisher. For example: "A Sunday in the Countryside (Hungarian Edition)" "The Holy Bible (Hungarian Edition)" "Revolution and anti-capitalist subversion (Hungarian Edition)" "Chess and Tarot (Hungarian Edition)" I would like to clear all titles by deleting the string "(Hungarian Edition)" in a single step. It would be very easy if you could use a regular expression, for example: Code: ...
