[Browser Viewer] Time to read -- > Calculating

Dear Kovid, This "time to read" item in the footer is awesome, which helps me to plan my reading: finish the chapter or leave it for now. Great. But it seems it's value/ status is not synced across the devices. And that means it has to calculate again. I hope it can technically be solved. PS: if anyone has issue with Chrome/browser remembering the login password, give the "fully kiosk browser" (play store) a try.

Chapter Titles as Styles in docx-->epub Conversion

System: Calibre 5.10.1, Ubuntu 20.04, LibreOffice 7.0.4.2 I've seen many suggestions to the effect that, if using Writer, a save as docx instead of odt before conversion to epub will give better results, so I have begun trying it. Falkor and MOP

For a while now I have seen the code name "falkor" associated with some new kind of Kindle content. I am curious whether anyone else has heard of this and might know what it refers to. Unrelated, I have also seen mention that of MOP format is starting to be deprecated in favor of YJOP. MOP (aka azw4) is PDF encapsulated in a MOBI container and YJOP is PDF in a KFX container. These formats are typically used for fixed-layout Kindle textbooks.

Where to download firmware 5.19.1055 for PB Touch HD 3?

I recently purchased a PB Touch HD 3 and noticed that it came with Software version: U632. 5.19.1055 , Release date: 20191219_020134 ... I see that https://www.pocketbook-int.com/int/s...ook-touch-hd-3 only has versions 5.19.832, 6.0.926, and 6.1.900 available for download. Does anyone know where I could get 5.19.1055, in case I wanted to reload my original firmware on my device after trying out the newer versions?

Unable to upgrade Calibre Portable

Please help with following issue. Current version is Calibre POrtable 5.8.1. I am not able to upgrade it to 5.9 or 5.10.1. The installer recognizes it is an upgrade and unpacks files and then reports that ebook-viewer-portable.exe cannot be moved because it is not existing (Error Code 2). Indeed, until I dismiss error message I can see a folder "_unpack_calibre_portable" in the current Calibre location. It has same folder tree as current Calibre but is missing three .exe files in main dir...

Forma How to "navigate" an epub with notes?

I recently read a book on my Kobo Forma. The text often had links to notes that were shown not at the bottom of the page but at the end of the book. I could easily click on the link and reach the page that contained the note, but I didn't know how to go back to the page I started from. Is there a way to do this easily? Does it depend on how the epub is made? Is there any suitable feature in the Kobo Forma firmware?

At this link, you can find a neat site that explains how camera sensors and lens optics work together to make pictures. It's very informative, starting from first principles, and there are lots of sliders to manipulate for a very hands-on learning experience. HOW TO GERMINATE BANANA SEEDS

Hardy banana seed can be sown at anytime of year so long as you can break its seed dormancy. To achieve this, soak the seeds for 24 hours in warm water before planting. Using either a seed tray of modular tray, fill with a good quality seed compost such as John Innes ‘Seed and Potting’.
