Upper Intermediate Print Grammar Book: DONE

Well it took forever, but our B2 “Upper Intermediate” Chinese Grammar Wiki Book is finally available in print form. This one turned out to be way more trouble than the last one, but I’ll resist the urge to turn this post into a rant. There are a few special grammar point details on the AllSet Learning blog post, but I also thought I’d share the book’s dedication text, since our proofreader enjoyed it and found it noteworthy: For all of the upper intermediateand advanced learners, wh...

The micro-compact striker-fired pistol market just received its latest contender! I made all my highlight notes on the book on kindle but now cant do anything with them except extract only the list of highlights which doesnt help at all. The Picture of Dorian Gray review – the ugly face of social media

Available onlineEternal youth and beauty exist only online in this thoroughly modern adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s fable, which counts Stephen Fry and Joanna Lumley among its impressive castIf Dorian Gray were reborn in our age, it seems entirely fitting that he would be a social media star obsessing over his image. So it makes great intuitive sense for this adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s novel to situate its protagonist in the centre of the digital whirl of 2021.There is now no physical painting: th...

Weekend Reading 3.15.21

I spent the weekend up in the mountains in Lake Tahoe, it was a spontaneous trip but oh what fun! The skies were blue and the snow was fresh and I finally got to ski after too many years away from the slopes on a perfect spring day. I was wiped out from the socializing and skiing and long drive back so I took it easy yesterday, snoozed on the couch and watched the Grammys, so the weekend links are late but here they are! Loving the simple medley of wood and white throughout this home (the powde...

Oregon Gun Storage Bill Endangers and Blames Victims

It’s never enough. Citizen disarmament cultists in Oregon now want to penalize gun owners who don’t want to give home invaders a tactical time advantage. (Senator Ginny Burdick/Facebook) U.S.A. – -(Ammoland.com)- “A proposed bill that would require a lock and safe to be purchased when buying a firearm, could minimize the use of stolen firearms, an issue the Medford Police Department (MPD) says they see routinely,” CBS affiliate News 10 reported Friday. “[T]he Oregon House Health Care Committe...

Feinstein-Cicilline AWB Legislation: ‘Treason’ Say Gun Activists

Anti-gun California Sen. Dianne Feinstein has introduced a new bill to ban so-called “assault weapons.” (Dave Workman) U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- As House Democrats, joined by eight Republicans, were passing two background check bills, anti-gun Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) were introducing legislation to ban so-called “assault weapons,” fulfilling with lightning speed a prediction from national gun rights advocate Alan Gottlieb. combine large libraries

Hi, Originally, I set up calibre wrong (I see now, looking at directions and manuals, etc.) I had a large ebook directory, copied it to my PC, and when I first installed calibre, pointed it to that directory. It seemed to work fine- have been finding and downloading books to my kindle for years. I just obtained another very large stash of books from a friend, and tried to add them properly, and it didn't work- I got 780 pages of errors, permission denied [Errno 13]. Can I uninsta...

The Next Exclusive Feature

When the Aura One was released, Kobo introduced integrated OverDrive support. This was a killer feature for me and won me over from upgrading my old Kindle at the time. When the Forma was released, Kobo introduced Dropbox support. I didn’t buy a Forma (I was still in love with my Aura One LE), but I’ve coveted that Dropbox support for two years now. What killer feature would you like to see in Kobo’s next flagship model? Maybe you’ve heard something, or maybe you’ve got a killer feature you’re ...

Hello

Hi, I'm a loyal calibre user, for several years, and have a few questions that I'll ask in what I hope will be the correct forum, and in the correct way- but just wanted to start by thanking anybody who has anything to do with calibre, as it's changed book reading for the better for me and many of my friends. Cheers!

Forma I went with FORMA !! and now.....

BIG THANK YOU to everyone who helped me in being comfortable buying a Forma. IT's ordered and I pick it up later this week. Got a good sale on it ! In the end, the extras an Android E-Ink offered were more about wanting them because they can, not because I will use them (except I do wish there was contrast control in Kobo, and built in margin crop that retains it's page positioning after page turns). The simplicity, kobo environment, light weight and always on features of the Forma simply...

Stag Arms PXC-9 Pistol Caliber Carbine – Review

U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- There are a few reasons people buy AR-style pistol caliber carbines: home defense/ truck gun, competition shooting, introducing new shooters to rifle platforms, or general plinking fun. Once upon a time, you might have tossed in “cheap training alternative to 5.56”, but we all know those days are long since gone. With that said, if you are looking for a PCC for one of the above reasons, you should definitely consider Stag Arms PXC-9. Stag Arms released the PXC at the ...

Foxtrot-Mike FM9 The Ultimate 9mm AR-15 ~ VIDEO

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Pistol-caliber carbines, also known as pseudo-sub-guns like the Foxtrot-Mike FM9, have been on the rise in the US commercial market over the last few years – and that’s a good thing. While they lack the range and energy of a rifle-caliber carbine, they are (usually) cheaper to shoot, have low recoil, and have considerably less flash and concussion on shorter barrels compared to SBRs. They make for great training tools, and also make an excellent choice for a home defen...

Speaking With U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene

Speaking With U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is a polarizing figure to many people. To some, she is a right-wing ideologue that is too eager to look for a fight with Democrats. To others, she is a woman of the people who is willing to fight for what is right. No matter what your opinion is of the Congresswoman, one thing can be sure; she is making an impact on Congress. One of Rep. Greene’s main issues is the prot...

And that’s not the only throwback toy inspired by The Real Ghostbusters that fans will be able to get their hands on this spring. ...

One possible bug report, two questions about developing metadata sources sources

I have a working metadata source that download information from noosfere. Well, when I say working, it means that I have been able to download correctly about 100 metadata books without failure. Yet I still need to bring in some fine tuning...;) To perform that I need to introduce a boolean, a number, a choice and maybe a text into the "configure Metadata download" window. I can make the various boxes without problem, but it seems that the "restore defaults" button does nothing... for any met...
