Rimfire Tommy Gun Designed by TFB Reader Mike Johnson

A couple of weeks ago, we published an article telling about the release of the Standard Manufacturing G4S rimfire rifle. Despite its modern look, the design elements of this rifle indicate that it is likely based on the Standard Manufacturing 1922, a scaled-down semi-auto rimfire replica of the Thompson submachine gun. This started a discussion about […] Read More … The post Rimfire Tommy Gun Designed by TFB Reader Mike Johnson appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

Oklahoma Considers Law Reform to Allow Defensive Escape by Motor Vehicle

Image from indystar.com video, cropped, scaled, arrows and lettering added by Dean Weingarten U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- One of the tactics used by the far left to disrupt the lives of private citizens and to show their power, is to block roadways, streets, and public right of ways. Blocking public right of ways has been a minor crime. Most states have statutes that require vehicles to give way to pedestrians. The far-left found this weakness in the system, which allowed them to disrupt and end...

Calibre won't read pdf books

Not sure if this should be in this category but here goes: I find I cannot open and read some pdf books I'd thought were successfully imported into calibre. The error message talks about dedrm but there's no drm on these at all or shouldn't be. I checked a couple of them and sure enough, there's nothing. They're just straight pdf's. I wonder if this means my whole calibre library is corrupt or suspect in some way? Bit of a worry. I've been thinking of the calibre library as my 'backup'...

Smith & Wesson M&P Shield EZ PC U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- With the rise of compact and subcompact pistols for personal defense use, the big question for many was: “When will tactical lights get smaller?” Advances in tactical weapon-mounted lights (WML) have been on the rise. POTD: GAU-21 Machine Gun in a MH-60S Knighthawk

I guess the opposite of sniping is machine gunning from an unsteady platform? SD card usage in new Lenovo Nook

We got the new Lenovo made 10" Nook, and installed a 256GB SD card in it. It asked whether we wanted to use it for storage or transfer; we chose storage and it formatted it. When we look at the Nook storage using Win Explorer on a PC, it shows ONLY the SD card, which is essentially empty. When we look at storage on the NOOK, it shows both the internal storage which is full and the SD card. We called support, and they claimed the PC can't see the internal storage "to prevent viruses". They s...

Nevada: Assembly Passes Ban on Home-Built Firearms

Nevada’s Assembly just passed a bill to ban the practice of building firearms at home for personal use. IMG NRA-ILA U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Yesterday, the Assembly voted 26-16 to pass an amended version of Assembly Bill 286, to end the centuries-old practice of making firearms for personal use. Fortunately, they did amend the bill to remove the expansion of “gun-free zones” where law-abiding citizens are left defenseless. AB 286 will now be sent to the Senate for further consideration. Assembl...

Keeping metadata for loaned books?

Does anybody else do that? I occasionally match a dummy book to fix ugly covers, but I've been thinking of just keeping permanent records for them, perhaps with assistance from the Overdrive plugin. Like my physical .paperbook VL, I'd probably have blank .borrowed or something for filtering/VL purposes. Plus keeping track of the date I read it.

External HTML Editor to edit Book Details panel Comments?

I was wondering if there was any way to link (and if so is there a particular editor that this has been found to work well with and and easily be integrated) an HTML Editor (with WYSIWIG) to use to edit the Comments section of the Book Details pane. (I get frustrated using the built in one - because I have to switch over from the HTML to the other tab to see it - then go back - and I can't search and replace and a number of other things - and when I go back I lose anything I may have "separated"...

Allegri Crystal’s Captivating Capuccio Chandelier

Allegri Crystal’s Capuccio is described as having an old world aesthetic. Indeed it does, but it also suggests a sense of something indecipherable, like hieroglyphics or an ancient Cyrillic text. The light possesses both streamlined and intricate elements. The bulk of it is made of fine Firenzi crystal, yet these sublime shapes are contained within the geometric confines of a matte black frame. The juxtaposition between contemporary and old world elements creates a tension that...

Lumi: Can not add Exchange account

Hello! With the current firmware of the Lumi, I can not add an Exchange account in the native mail app (or via the system Accounts menu in Settings).
