Opinion Anti-Freedom Groups, Exploiting Suicide, and What’s Next? New Jersey – -(AmmoLand.com)- Going over hundreds of pages of documents and sifting through the who’s doing what, where, and when, things pop out for later consideration. The Republic is In Trouble & More than Just Gun Owners Should Care

The Republic is In Trouble & More than Just Gun Owners Should Care USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- The Republic is in real trouble, what looks like the possibility of a Biden Presidency, unless the courts intervene or President Trump takes extraordinary action, is upon us. What’s worse is the thought of the Democrats getting control of all of the legislative and executive branches of the Federal Government is a very real threat. In January, the Senate will be up for grabs with the run-off election in...

LONDON — John le Carre, the spy-turned-novelist whose elegant and intricate narratives defined the Cold War espionage thriller and brought acclaim to a genre critics had once ignored, has died. Chris Hillman reveals Tom Petty might have gotten the Byrds to reunite while discussing new memoir

Chris Hillman says there was never any grand plan behind his decision to write about his life in music, a career that spans six decades as co-founder of legendary bands such as the Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers, and his later success as the leader of the Desert Rose Band. “I started this as a fun project to leave something for my kids and grandkids,” he says from his Ventura home recently. “To write something about what Papa did, what dad did. “And the only other thing, there were so man...

Looking to Old and Once Obsolete Guns to Beat the Ammo Shortage

Sometimes uncommon calibers are easier to find. IMG Jim Grant U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- I was in a local gun shop the other day, and while I was looking to see if anything odd or unique piqued my interest, one customer after another came in asking for ammunition that of course, was not there on the shelf, or any shelf at any gun shop locally for that matter. They all plead their case, one or two of them said that they only had a few rounds for each of their particular guns and with hunting seaso...

In Defense of The Lawn

Last week, Susan Harris emailed me regarding my recent article “In Defense of The Lawn” in the July/August issue of The American Gardener magazine. “Can we use it for the Rant?” she said, “Where it belongs?”  Susan is right – it is a rant of sorts, though I like to think of it as a well-reasoned argument.  In any case, it’s a discussion I think we should all have; and when I contacted David Ellis, editor of The American Gardener, he kindly permitted us to run an excerpt here to start that discu...

‘The Legend of Halloween’ Book: David Gordon Green Wrote an Illustrated Version of the 1978 John Carpenter Classic

What if someone took John Carpenter’s iconic horror film Halloween and reworked it into an illustrated storybook? You’d get The Legend of Halloween, a new book from Further Front Publishing written by Halloween 2018 director David Gordon Green and  Onur Tukel (who also illustrated). The results are kind of adorable, and while some may take issue with seeing Michael “The Shape” Myers being reduced to a cute illustrated character, it’s no worse than watching him kung-fu fight Busta Rhymes in Hall...

The Italian Moschetto Modello 91/38 Cavalleria Carbine

Compact and hard-hitting, the Carcano is a very underrated rifle. U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- The Italian Carcano rifle, probably the most maligned, made fun of and possibly hated military bolt action rifles in existence. I’ve heard of them described as inaccurate, barely workable, and other terms that involve a smattering of four-letter words, but are they as bad as they’re made out to be? When mentioning the Carcano rifle of any kind, the first thing that comes into mind is, of course, the role ...

On Books: Ametora

I’ll start off by saying that I’m completely embarrassed by the fact that it took until now for me to finally read my buddy David Marx’s . I’m not quite sure why, I think it’s just one of those things that you keep meaning to do, and it slips through the cracks, and then you get to a point where you’re like, hey, I didn’t read this yet, what’s up with that? With that out of the way, I just blasted through it over a couple of days (thank god for vacation time) as I couldn’t put it down....

Daisy Powerline P51 Slingshot – Review

U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- When you’re up camping you need to have some fun activities for the kids to do. Kobo Mini keeps freezing

Hello! I have a kobo mini and it's screen kept freezing after 30 seconds or a minute. I changed the microSD card (thanks for the image David) and it started working again I set it up from scratch it worked perfectly for another 2 minutes then started freezing again. Now it sometimes it freezes even when I don't tap on the screen. Is there something I can do or something that I should check so it keeps working properly? Thank you for your time.

Well I’ve had a wonderful August sabbatical with lots of reading, and I hope you have too, but it’s time we returned to talking about good books and today’s the day. 'If you don't know the past, you can't understand the present and plan properly for the future...' Barbarians At The Gates, Is Our Great Republic In Danger Of Falling ~ VIDEOS

The Sacking of Rome is starting to resemble what we're seeing in America's cities. JN Sylvestre 1847-1926 / Public domain. USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- The Barbarians are at the gates, the cities are in flames, the war for the soul of America is in full swing. What I say here I do not say lightly. Hey, look!

"The AR-15 (and its many variants) wasn’t always America’s most popular rifle, but it has been for the last twenty years or so. The AR-pattern carbines on the ranges of 2020 look completely different from the most popular models on gun store racks at the turn of the millennium. My friend David has quipped that he can guess the year an AR was built by looking at it. In my experience he’s rarely far off. Driven by changes in technology, the evolution of TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures),...
