Here's My Exciting News!

My Civil War novel has found a home! After wandering in the wilderness for way too long, it will be published in the fall of 2020 by Regal House Publishing -- a small traditional press out of Raleigh, NC! I am impressed with what I've learned about Regal and believe that they will give this child of my heart their best attention. At the moment, the title is undecided. My working tile was THE WAY OF IT, but I have never really been satisfied with it. So some brainstorming is going ...

Inside the Creative Mind Behind Sharps Bros. – Interview with John Sharps

John Sharps U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- A couple of years back I was surfing the internet while sitting in the gun store, I owned at the time, and I saw something that blew my mind. It was the “Jack” by a company called Sharps Bros. The design was so aesthetically pleasing that I needed to find out more about the company, so I started rapidly search them out. It turns out this wasn't their only design. Sharps Bros. has other designs as well such as the “Hellbreaker” which is based on the P-40 Wa...

Review Of Holosun 507c Pistol Red Dot Sight

John appears to like the Holosun, and it’s cheaper than the competitors. I did a little time with a pistol red dot sight on Saturday for the first time, and reflexively looked for the front post and tried to co-witness it with the dot.  That’s wrong, but breaking that habit will be tough if I get a pistol red dot sight.  I’ll need to spend some time turning training time into muscle memory.

Before Wallis - Edward VIII's Other Women ~ Rachel Trethewey

First things first, I must now confess to a complete blank on the lineage of the House of Windsor. What a disgrace. Well, the early days of the House of Windsor that is, created in 1917 to break with any prior associations with Germany... but who exactly were the brothers and sisters, the children of King George V and Queen Mary? I've sorted it out now but I can't believe I had never really paid attention and understood the place of Dukes of Gloucester and Kent in the grand Windsor scheme o...

Books So Good I’ve Read Them 2X (Or More!)

Given the fact that there are over 130 million books in existence, it’s easy to despair of ever having the chance to read even the smallest fraction of them. And given how little headway you’ll ultimately make on that number, even if you’re a regular reader and live to a ripe old age, it can be hard to justify reading the same book, not just once, but twice (and even multiple times!). But I think there are several good reasons to do so. The first is that each time you read the same book, ...
