Urban Decay Sparkle Out Loud 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils Reviews & Swatches

Electric Empire Urban Decay Electric Empire 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a rich, blue-teal base with cooler gold and green micro-glitter and sparkle. It was glittery, though it seemed slightly tempered by slightly finer particles, but it’s not something I’d wear comfortably on my water line (I tried; it went poorly–it didn’t seem THAT sparkly initially). There was enough particles i the liner that I could feel a bit of texture as it glided across my lowe...

Dior Terra (786) Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Terra (786) Dior Terra (786) High Fidelity Colours & Effects Eyeshadow Palette ($63.00 for 0.24 oz.) is comprised of warm, shimmery neutrals from peach to plum that tends to over in the more mid-tone area of the color spectrum. It works as a standalone palette, but I imagine that it’ll be more versatile when paired with your favorite matte eyeshadows (particularly for more depth). All five shades were pigmented, blendable, and easy to work with–no complaints–which made it one of the be...

Chanel Blurry Blue (324) Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches

Blurry Blue (324) Chanel Blurry Blue (324) Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow ($62.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a new, permanent (or so it seems, as it is not listed as limited edition on the brand’s website) featuring a smokier set of shades–two taupes, a deep (but faded) blue, and mid-depth gray. For me, I could see this as an anchor palette–one that will complement a lot of other palettes (particularly your lighter or more shimmery palettes)–but runs together a lot on its own. The pi...

NARS Isabella & Margot Audacious Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches

Isabella NARS Isabella Audacious Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark plum with soft, warm undertones and a satin sheen. The lipstick had opaque color payoff in a single layer, which glided across my lips easily and delivered an even application of product. The texture was creamy, smooth, and lightweight, despite having a denser/slightly thicker feel. It wore well for five and a half hours and felt lightly hydrating over time. Tom Ford Suspicion Eye Color Quad Review & Swatches

Suspicion (04) Tom Ford Beauty Suspicion (04) Eye Color Quad ($88.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a newly-released quad featuring four shimmery shades in warmer hues. All four shades were pigmented, blendable, and easy to work with and lasted for seven to eight hours on me (without primer). The formula seems to be marginally improved upon, as it seemed softer and more yielding while still being that familiar gel-powder texture (denser, firmer, no fallout, and blends well on skin). ...

NARS Bella & Delphine Audacious Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches

Bella NARS Bella Audacious Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium-dark peach with warm, orange undertones and a satin finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which adhered evenly and smoothly across my lips. The texture was lightly creamy, denser but not thick or heavy to wear, and comfortable to apply as it did not tug or drag. This particular shade seemed to be a bit less forgiving of my lip lines compared to some of the shades in the Audacious range, though...

Chanel Intense Teal & Jungle Green Stylo Yeux Eyeliners Reviews & Swatches

Intense Teal (946) Chanel Intense Teal (946) Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner ($33.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a rich, medium blue with cool undertones and a satin sheen. It seemed to have slightly larger shimmer than some of the other shades released alongside this one, but it had less of it. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy but not quite as emollient as the other shades–thankfully, not to the point where it was less comfortable to use, as it still adhered evenly and didn’t s...

Tom Ford Clash, Stunner, Powertrip Lip Sparks Reviews & Swatches

Clash Tom Ford Beauty Clash Lip Spark ($55.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a deep, coppery red with warm, orange undertones and flecks of orange and red sparkle. It had medium to semi-opaque coverage in one layer, which went on fairly evenly but could have applied better. The texture was lightweight, emollient without being heavy or slippery on my lips during wear, and was comfortable to wear. I didn’t notice the texture during application or while worn, though if I pressed my lips together firmly...

Chanel Blurry Grey (322) Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches

Blurry Grey (322) Chanel Blurry Grey (322) Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow ($62.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a new, seemingly permanent (it’s not listed as limited edition on the brand’s website) quad featuring cooler, smokier neutrals with two mattes and two more shimmery shades. I found that the longevity was a little shy of average, so I’d encourage those interested to be sure to use primer underneath to minimize the chance of fading, but the eyeshadows were pigmented, blendable, a...

Brun Agape (943) Chanel Brun Agape (943) Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner ($33.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a deeper bronze with subtle, warm reddish undertones and a faint, pearly sheen. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer, which adhered evenly and smoothly to my lash line without dragging or tugging on it. The texture was lightweight, creamy, and emollient without being too wet as it set to a long-lasting product within 10 seconds. It wore well for 10 hours with ...

Chanel Blurry Green (318) Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches

Blurry Green (318) Chanel Blurry Green (318) Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow ($62.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a new quad that features two more golden shades and two deeper, more contrasting shades of black-brown and forest green. I’ve seen the quad say sold out and then pop back in stock, and the website doesn’t list it as limited edition, so my expectation is that it should reappear at some point (hopefully sooner rather than later). Tom Ford Surge & Thrust Lip Sparks Reviews & Swatches

Surge Tom Ford Beauty Surge Lip Spark ($55.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a deeper gold with larger, chunkier flecks of glitter paired with a warmer, more brown base. It had more semi-opaque coverage when I swatched it, but on my lips, it seemed more semi-sheer to medium in coverage. The texture was sparkly; I could feel the edges of the glitter as I applied the lipstick and if I pressed my lips together. This shade seemed to have the largest particles, and it also applied the worst in the range w...

Best & Worst of Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Collection

After testing all of the new products from the Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Collection, it was a bit of a mixed bag! The Lovegasm palette was nice, while the Lightgasm palette was less pigmented and stiffer/firmer in the pans, so it was less easy to work with. The three new shades of Light Wands were lovely, though. I struggled to prevent Rose Gold from creasing on me but had success with Star Gold–go figure.  Did you pick up anything from this launch? Anything moved on or off your wish list? ...

Body Heat (03) Tom Ford Beauty Body Heat (03) Eye Color Quad ($88.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a new, permanent quad that features a peach, reddish-brown, taupe, and muted brown. All four shades have some shimmer to them, though one (the fourth) has more of a satin finish. The eyeshadows were pigmented, smooth, blendable, and easy to work with and worked well together. The formula seemed ever-so-slightly more finely-milled and silky, almost more yielding than past iterations of this formula by ...

Kate Middleton’s $7 Style Hack Is Pure Genius

There is an entire list of things Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton can’t do now that they're royals (including eating garlic, cuddling with a dog, and not wearing anything deemed too risqué by their Queen Elizabeth II). Official royal protocol is the reason Middleton must always keep her coat on in public, carry a clutch as a way to avoid shaking hands, and not wear wedges. Those same rules stipulate that the Duchess of Cambridge must always wear very fine nude stockings when stepping out in pu...

Marching with my mother: why the anti-Trump march was the perfect day out

We started with political chat, visited Zara to see how it compared to with M&S, then carried on protestingWe arranged to meet outside John Lewis. As I waited for my mother in the midday sun, I thought about the other times we’d come here, just the two of us: shopping for school jumpers and, later, bedding for university, which included an enormously angst-ridden search for the perfect conversation-starter duvet cover that would convey my fun-loving ways, artistic soul and effortlessly cool atti...

How You Can Help Keep Abortion Safe & Legal In Light Of Justice Kennedy Retiring

Justice Anthony Kennedy's retirement from the Supreme Court spells a potential future in which even more abortion rights are targeted and stripped away.President Donald Trump has already promised to replace Kennedy with a Justice who will take away the constitutional right to an abortion. And while this will undoubtedly lead to a chipping away, if not complete reversal, of Roe v. Wade, our rights are already under siege thanks to state legislatures.According to a 2017 report from The Guttmacher...

Gwen Graham Is Running For Governor So That Parkland Never Happens Again

On the Saturday after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL, Gwen Graham found herself standing on the stage next to Emma González as she made her "We call BS " speech."It was at that moment that I felt some measure of hope in my soul that this time might be different," Graham told Refinery29.
