Suhr Guitar Talk :: Suhr Olympic White is soooo white

Author: Emesem Subject: Suhr Olympic White is soooo white Posted: Mon Feb 25, 2019 1:01 pm (GMT -7) Topic Replies: 0 Have a 2017 Classic Pro and gosh this one is VERY white. (lighter than the parchment pickguard). I've seen pict of other Classic Pros and the Oly Wht looks a bit creamier. Not yellowed or "vintage" but surely a bit less white compared to the pickguard. What gives. Different whites for different years? Will putting it out in the sun get it a bit of color. I know its poly so I ...

Suhr Guitar Talk :: RE: Video comparison of the V60 and V60LP singlecoils

Author: Emesem Posted: Mon Feb 25, 2019 12:56 pm (GMT -7) Topic Replies: 1 Awesome. Nice playing. Gotta say I have a Classic Pro with the LPs and always thought something was missing. I think I prefer the V60 here. I just got a American Professional and V-mods sound similar. The Suhr, of course, is a better build, feels and plays better (and costs almost 2x as much) but it seems like it holds something back sound wise.

‘The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs’ is a user-friendly opera that plays better with audiences than critics. Does it matter?

As a critic, it's hard to ignore key pieces of Steve Jobs' story left out of the new opera from Mason Bates and Mark Campbell. It's also hard to deny the enthusiasm I saw around me on opening night.

7 Glitzy Nail Looks To Inspire Your Mardi Gras Mani

With billions of beads, eccentric masks, and a rainbow of feather boas, Mardi Gras is not a holiday renowned for its subtly. The celebration, otherwise known as Fat Tuesday, falls exactly 47 days before Easter, marking the official end of the Carnival season and the kickstart to the holy period of Lent. The holiday is a huge cultural moment in New Orleans, Louisiana specifically, where Mardi Gras — which is Tuesday, March 5, this year — is a bank holiday, and there are parades and parties spanni...

There's A Right & A Wrong Way To Use Your Favorite Face Mist

Luxury is, by definition, a state of great comfort and extravagance, particularly as it relates to lifestyle. In practice, it takes on many different forms: fine leather goods, a five-course prix fixe at a restaurant that's fully booked six months out, a Patek Philippe timepiece (that's a fancy word for watch), a chalet in the Alps, a private jet that takes you to your chalet in the Alps. But maybe true luxury is doing things just because you can, because you can afford to — like spraying very ...

This colorful, marbled speaker is made from non-recyclable plastic waste

While plastic waste, to a certain degree, can be recycled, it’s just a small percentage of the total waste out there. Certain polymers grow past their ability to be recycled because of additives, impurities, stickers, prints, etc. and this is the plastic that causes the biggest problem because it just can’t be recycled.Brighton-based design studio Gomi is trying to be a part of the solution. The Gomi speaker, designed by the studio, uses these unrecyclable plastics as its primary raw material, t...

The Biggest Beauty Moments You Didn't See At The Oscars

Despite all the drama that ensued prior to this year's 91st Academy Awards, the show did go on — and how. Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga almost made out (that's what happened, right?), Rami Malek professed his love for Queen and Lucy Boynton (then promptly fell off the stage), and Spike Lee won his first Oscar (not counting the honorary statue he received in 2016). Overall, the night end up being something special... or, at the very least, something worth tweeting about. But that only accounts for...

Miley Cyrus Wore Her Natural Waves To The Fanciest Party In Hollywood

With all due respect to the old Miley Cyrus — naked, platinum blonde, swinging on a wrecking ball — her current look, chill and toned-down, au naturel, stands on its own as one of Hollywood's greatest make-unders. We might be able to credit her new husband, Liam Hemsworth, with a tiny part of how good she's been looking lately (her glowy skin and bright eyes have "newlywed bliss" written all over them), but the shiny, side-swept waves she wore to last night's Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, as i...

Mark Hollis, lead singer of Talk Talk, RIP

Mark Hollis, lead singer of Talk Talk, has reportedly died. He was 64. While the UK "post-rock" band may be best known for their 1984 synthy single "It's My Life," Talk Talk's true masterpiece was the much more experimental 1988 album "Spirit of Eden" that dripped with ambient, jazz, and avant-garde influences. It's an absolute stunner. From The Guardian: Talk Talk’s bassist Mark Webb, aka Rustin Man, paid tribute to Hollis on Instagram. “I am very shocked and saddened to hear the news ...
