First, Groovy Q performed his brand new single “Numb Numb Juice” while the song’s amazing/hilarious video played in the background. Then, he debuted an unreleased song called “Chopstix,” which features Travis Scott on the hook. A demo version with Kendrick Lamar leaked online last year. (Also, anyone else think it kinda sounds like...

Watch Schoolboy Q Debut Travis Scott Collab “Chopstix” On Fallon

A week ago, the LA rap livewire Schoolboy Q came out with "Numb Numb Juice," an absolutely monstrous single. On that song, Q snarls through a whole bunch of threats and insults and then ends it in less than two minutes. It was a hell of a first shot. And since More »

Schoolboy Q – “Numb Numb Juice”

After teasing new music on social media, he has … More »

The 5 Best Videos Of The Week

The big music video from this past week, the one that seemed custom-designed to drive conversation, was Ariana Grande's "break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored." It sucks. The video is an overly literal reading of the song's lyrics, told with no real visual style, and building up to a fake-shock moment that … More »

The Quick Atomization Of SOB x RBE

"It feels like they're just getting started." That's something I wrote about the young Vallejo, California rap group SOB x RBE eight months ago. It turns out that they were really just getting finished. Eight months ago, SOB x RBE had enormous momentum behind them. They'd made "Paramedic!," maybe the single best song … More »

Juice WRLD Turns SoundCloud Rap Into Toxic Emo-Pop

Fifteen years ago, in her Punk Planet column, Jessica Hopper wrote a piece called "Emo: Where The Girls Aren't." The piece went about as viral as a zine column could in 2003, and it's probably still one of the most widely discussed pieces of music criticism that this century has given us. Its … More »
