Todd Bowles is out, but the Jets still have plenty of problems – including their GM

The front office – which still consists of general manager Mike Maccagnan – will begin the search for a new leader to resurrect its wayward franchise. The Jets are an enticing option for head-coaching candidates for a few reasons: a young quarterback in Sam Darnold; a young leader in safety Jamal Adams; $100 million in 2019 salary-cap space; and the third overall pick in next year’s draft. Plus, there’s no bigger stage than New York.

Bears notes: ‘Lollipop’ turns Vikings into suckers

The Bears didn't hold anything back in their offensive playbook in Sunday's 24-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings, as evidenced by the two-point conversion attempt call dialed up by coach Matt Nagy. The play - dubbed "Lollipop" - called for cornerback Prince Amukamara to run fake jet motion across the line of scrimmage four times before Mitch Trubisky would drop back to pass, ultimately finding linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski in the end zone for a score. The Bears had to burn a timeout to ...

Eric Weddle plans to share recently earned $1 million bonus with teammates

Earlier this season, Baltimore Ravens safety Eric Weddle said he’d rather make the playoffs than have a million dollars. It sounds like Weddle is about to get very generous. “I’ve been thinking about it all week that if it happened, I’m going to do something nice for all my teammates and my coaches because I’m nothing without my team,” Weddle said, via ESPN.

Bangladesh PM wins election landslide as opponents demand new vote

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was declared the landslide winner Monday of an election marred by deadly violence that the opposition slammed as "farcical" and rigged. Steelers edge Bengals 16-13 but miss out on playoffs

The win they needed but at times didn't act like they particularly wanted finally secured, the Pittsburgh Steelers lingered on the Heinz Field turf after a sluggish 16-13 victory over Cincinnati on Sunday and turned their eyes to the massive videoboard in the south end zone. A season filled with promise six weeks ago before things came undone boiled down to something entirely out of Pittsburgh's control: whether Cleveland could pull off a stunning rally in Baltimore. As a decidedly o...

Jaguars reportedly void Leonard Fournette’s remaining guarantees

The tongue-lashing that Jaguars V.P. of football operations Tom Coughlin gave running back Leonard Fournette was just the beginning. According to the Associated Press, the Jaguars have informed Fournette that they have voided the remaining guarantees on his first-round rookie deal. The team acquired the ability to do it after Fournette was suspended for one game earlier this season, after exiting the bench and participating in a fight at Buffalo.

Andrew Luck's comeback, a rookie coach, a 1-5 start ... Colts' playoff berth is incredible

On October 14, the Indianapolis Colts lost 42-34 to the New York Jets. A quick scan of NFL history tells you the long odds Indianapolis faced at that point. Only the 1970 Cincinnati Bengals and 2015 Kansas City Chiefs had gone from 1-5 to the playoffs. But it was even deeper than that.
