NFL Combine: Top QB prospects check the boxes at weigh-in

The Chicago Bears will be in the market for a quarterback in the 2020 NFL draft, which more than any other position in the sport, has strict physical requirements that many old-school scouting personnel refuse to ignore. Recent success stories like Russell Wilson, Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray have begun to change the narrative that suggests to be a starting quarterback in the NFL a player must be at least 6-foot-2, but anything below the 6-foot mark will raise a red flag even in today's ...

Chicago Bears Free Agent Focus: Case Keenum

The Bears have been connected to all of the big-name free agent quarterbacks this offseason. General manager Ryan Pace is expected to add competition for the starting job in free agency or the 2020 NFL draft after incumbent and former second overall pick, Mitch Trubisky, regressed mightily in his third season last year. But rather than focus on players like Tom Brady, Philip Rivers and even Marcus Mariota, it makes more sense to pay close attention to the next tier of free agent passers who coul...

Bernie blows the casino doors off in Nevada

Sen. Bernie Sanders continued his methodical march to the Democratic nomination on Saturday with a blowout victory in Nevada over his chief rivals. As was the case after Iowa and New Hampshire, none of his competitors has a clear path to the nomination, even though Sanders only has a slim delegate lead with a tiny percentage of all delegates allocated. And crucially, Sanders broke through the polling ceiling that seemed to hang over his campaign in Iowa and New Hampshire, not only beating expect...

Nick Nurse passes Steve Kerr to become winningest head coach in NBA history

The Bulls and the city of Chicago have their fingerprints all over the list of winningest head coaches (by win-loss percentage) in NBA history but a new name is atop the list as of Friday night. Former Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau is 33rd on the list with a 58.9% W-L percentage, and of course, Bulls Hall of Fame coach Phil Jackson has long held a firm place within the top-5. ‘They’ve Been Waiting 12 Years.’ Trump Administration’s New Visa Rules Halts Plans of Immigrants Nearing Finish Line

(BOSTON) — After nearly a dozen years moving through the U.S. visa system, Sai Kyaw’s brother and sister and their families were at the finish line: a final interview before they could leave Myanmar to join him in Massachusetts and work at his restaurant. Then a dramatic turn in U.S. immigration policy halted their plans. The interview was postponed, and it’s not clear when, or whether, it will be rescheduled. “It’s terrible,” Kyaw said. “There’s nothing we can really do except pray. They’v...

Looking for cap space, the Bears release Prince Amukamara and Taylor Gabriel

Amukamara put up respectable numbers (29 pass breakups, 3 INT, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 TD) during his three-season run in Chicago, and while the 30-year-old corner was still playable in 2019, the team clearly wanted to go in a younger (and cheaper) direction. Backup Kevin Toliver -- who, notably, was given some of Amukamara's snaps late in the season -- 2019 6th-round pick Duke Shelley, and newly-signed CFL star Tre Roberson would all be in-house candidates to step up i...
