DAVE FASON - Louisiana Bullying

I'm lucky for the many friends that I've made through the years of writing The Fiberglass Manifesto and along the way have also developed a list of "go to's" when it comes to filling open spots on the handful of hosted trips that I plan each year.  When this year's trip to Louisiana was coming together, Dave Fason eagerly said yes and it was stellar to have him along. You likely already know Dave as he's been featured on T.F.M. in the past and you've also likely seen his work with C. Barclay Fly...

In the liturgical world, Lent began last week and in the natural realm, we are just 18 days away from the start of spring. (This year the equinox falls on March 19th -  the earliest since 1896!) Most of us in the northern hemisphere know however, that winter absolutely loves to linger ... and spring is perpetually running late. And here in New Englan...

"My side-eye at their neo-pioneer lifestyle is accompanied by a thrum of envy for the freedom of their life..."

"... (Who works? Is there a trust fund at play here, or are they just that good at living off the land?) and a desperate, shame-filled recognition of the disparity between their towering competence and my obvious lack thereof. Who would you want to link up with in the coming apocalypse? The hot, fit, loving family who knows how to build a house by hand, or the tubby middle-aged broad who can’t even drive stick? Exactly. My ability to provide wry commentary about my own cervix is an asset useful ...
