What Does Hailey Bieber Smell Like? Ariana Grande, Evidently

Image Source: Getty / Steve Granitz / George Pimentel Stars - they smell like other stars! During a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Justin Bieber was met with an unexpected question about wife Hailey Bieber's scent, and the singer proceeded to offer the best free and unasked-for promotion one could ever hope to receive: "She smells like Ariana Grande's perfume." In the "Burning Questions" game, Bieber went on to praise the perfume a bit further. "It's a good smell. It's flowery ...

The sun setting on a shuttered Tokyo shopping street

A few months ago, I photographed and wrote about danchi, or Japanese public housing. Born in the 1950s and peaking around the early 70s, this massive building project created affordable and modern housing for the nation’s growing number of young families. Fast forward to the present day, however, and many of these once futuristic apartment complexes are more crumbling relics than sought after properties. The same also goes for the little shopping precincts that were an integral part of some dan...

The coronavirus sends jitters through the advertising industry

Live sports has been carrying the TV industry, and the coronavirus fallout could serve as a reminder of just how vulnerable the some-$70-billion industry really is.  The spectre of the summer Olympics being canceled or postponed has already put a damper on ad spending, as companies from The New York Times to ad giant Publicis warn that advertisers will tap the breaks this year. There's even been speculation by analysts that virus fears sped up Bob Iger's recent passing of the torch at Disney. Th...

How Instagram 'nano influencers' with only 2,000 followers can make money from sponsored posts

There's growing demand in influencer marketing for sponsored posts from creators with fewer than 5,000 followers. These "nano influencers," who don't work full-time as creators, are much cheaper to hire and can often appear more authentic than career influencers with millions of followers. The influencer marketing startup Heartbeat has built a marketplace to connect brands with 275,000 Instagram users that have an average of about 2,000 followers.  Heartbeat said it pays its nano influencers a...

Patrick Corbin built an insane mini-golf course in his Florida home backyard

Patrick Corbin is admittedly not the best at golf, but that didn't stop him from building an insane, nine-hole mini-golf course in the backyard of his Florida home. Corbin, on his Instagram story in January, showed off all nine holes of every mini golfer's dream--complete with sandtraps and makeshift water hazards. "That's why I built this miniature golf course, cause I'm good at that," Corbin told The Sports Junkies Tuesday.

Tough Squirrel Mother Will Stop at Nothing to Protect the Babies From a Cobra in This Intense Standoff

Even cobras should know better than to mess with a mother protecting her babies. That maxim is proven once again in a two-minute video shared by the Kruger Sightings YouTube channel. In the clip, captured at South Africa’s Kruger National Park, a Cape cobra, which would be intimidating to many much larger mammals, including this human, is seen lunging at a Cape ground squirrel. While the squirrel understandably falls back a few feet, it doesn’t run off like this human would do in the face o...

Suddenly, as I'm working at my desk, tweaking this morning's sunrise photograph, a beautiful snowstorm sweeps in.

We don't often get those picturesque big, fluffy flakes, and I'm delighted to see it all from my window. I would have loved to have it falling on me as I went out on my sunrise run, but the sun and I were too early for it: [Author: [email protected] (Ann Althouse)]
