Under the Sun

It was gray and foggy all day long last week but around two in the afternoon the sun came out and I headed for the Luxembourg Gardens. (This was before confinement started again.) It like it much better than the Tuileries as it just seems more intimate. All of the trees that turn yellow in the Fall had done so. I guess orange and red leaves will arrive next month. It was a bit early for the mums too. Only the yellow ones had started blooming. Hopefully, I will be able to return in...

Night falls... the election results should be coming in soon...

I will mark the occasion with a picture of the sunrise....   ... perhaps by tomorrow's sunrise we will know the answer. I hope so! I'd like a crisply clear result to come into focus as soon as possible, and I'd like gracious winners and losers, all united in love for our beautiful country.  Please use the comments section to discuss the election doings. We'll be moderating comments through quickly over the course of the evenings. I have seen a few requests to take moderation off, but yo...

After getting the date wrong earlier, Siri now knows today is Election Day

Listen chief, it’s Election Day in the United States. You know that, I know that. Everyone knows that — and in the off-chance anyone wasn’t clued in to the fact, the last few weeks have offered a non-stop barrage of reminders to vote. Today. Tuesday. November 3. 2020. It seems the last one to find out, however, was Siri . If you happened to greet Apple’s smart assistant with a “Happy Election Day” earlier today, it may well have answered that the big day isn’t until November 8, as pointed o...

Instagram is Telling Some Users That 'Tomorrow is Election Day'

On Election Day, a subset of Instagram users woke up to a message at the top of their Instagram feeds that read, "Tomorrow is Election Day." For some, the message was still there by the early afternoon. Instagram chalked the outdated message up to a caching issue that caused some users to continue seeing Monday's election notification. From a report: "While we turned off the 'Tomorrow is Election Day' notice last night, it was cached for a small group of people if their app hadn't been restarted...

Among Us became Autumn’s biggest meme and one of the most talked-about games in the industry. Our Senior Research & Insight Executive Saad Abukhadra and Senior Editor Brett Phipps explain what it’s all about, and how brands can get involved. Among Us is, quite literally, among us. Our new series of travel photos that tell a story starts with a nomadic young girl who herds animals on the high-altitude Tibetan plateau We rattled over the rugged peaks of a wild, remote landscape of the high Himalaya – in a truck open to the biting wind. After a few long days crossing this frozen land, we reached a small Tibetan camp of yak-haired tents wedged in between jagged peaks.
