SEO for Video Marketing: Creating Your Brand’s Video Plan

A mere few years ago, a video marketing plan might have entailed uploading a few videos to Instagram and Facebook and calling it a day. Maybe you uploaded the same videos to YouTube just because it was there. And that was it. If this still sounds like your current video strategy (or worse, sounds better than your current strategy), you could be missing out on valuable search real estate and inbound traffic. Fear not, we’ve got you covered. In this post, we’ll explain the dynamic relationsh...

Instagram now has audio-only livestreams, because Clubhouse (probably)

Oh hey, Facebook is taking a page out of Clubhouse’s book. Again. Times two. Instagram has added the ability to run audio-only broadcasts on Instagram Live. It doesn’t quite turn Instagram into Clubhouse, but it’s hard not to look at the update through the lens of the meteoric rise of audio-centric platforms like Clubhouse and Twitter’s Spaces. Who’d have thought that glorified conference calls would be the next big thing? Granted, maybe this update has nothing to do with Clubhouse. At its core,...

Akihabara in the relatively recent past

Tokyo’s Akihabara district got its Electric Town moniker in the post-war period when handmade radios and their components were sold, often illicitly, on the street. A surprisingly humble start for a place that became the capital’s go-to spot for all things electrical. Over the following decades the area stayed true to its name, but in the 1980s it began shifting more towards gaming, anime and otaku culture in general. A scene that Akihabara went on to fully, and very successfully embrace, maki...

See photos of the bird that researchers scientifically deemed the 'most Instagrammable'

Tawny Frogmouth (Podargus strigoides) seen roosting on low fallen tree. Photo by Joshua Prieto/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images Two German scientists set out to answer a simple question: What makes a good bird photo? They examined thousands of Instagram photos and users' "like" behavior to find the champion. In the end, a nocturnal fowl native to Australia and Southeast Asia came out on top. Since the cherry tree blossoms were looking so good I decided to search for wisteria, one of my favorite Spring blooms. I started at Place Daumesnil with a friend. On the way to Promenade Planteé. Some nice art work on some stairs. I found this in a courtyard. Isn’t gorgeous? Some white wisteria just getting started.

Sheltie love.

I encountered these incredibly beautiful dogs yesterday (at Devil's Lake State Park):     They could not have been sweeter. Could they have been more beautiful? I have to say yes, because there was a third one, the prettiest of the bunch, but I didn't catch him on camera.I love the way the one in back comes to the fore. And I love the way the black one has a swath of white across the chest that continues onto the leg. [Author: [email protected] (Ann Althouse)]

Leading Thoughts for April 29, 2021

IDEAS shared have the power to expand perspectives, change thinking, and move lives. Here are two ideas for the curious mind to engage with: I. Phil Knight on competition: “Emotion would be fatal. I needed to remain cool. I thought back on my running career at Oregon. I’d competed with, and against, men far better, faster, more physically gifted. Many were future Olympians. And yet, I’d trained myself to forget this unhappy fact. People reflexively assume that competition is always a good thi...

Jim Belushi is chasing the magic in cannabis

I don’t think Jim Belushi was high while we talked on Zoom this week. Instead of a joint, he was puffing on a cigar, but he was still happy and smiling. “I have my brother’s face on it. I have the Blues Brothers brand. It’s got to be good shit, man.” Jim Belushi was telling me about his weed, specifically about the small 0.7 gram pre-rolls he sells — the perfect size for the post-Covid era, when passing a joint to a friend is likely discouraged. Belushi started his farm with 48 cannabis plants i...
