Lightroom Classic For The Win. Finally.

In each issue of Lightroom Magazine, at the front of the mag, I write a note to our readers called, “A Note From Scott.” Rather than just telling readers what’s in the issue of the mag they’re already reading, I use it as a place to talk frankly to the Lightroom community at KelbyOne. Today I’m sharing my “Note from Scott” from the current issue (March 2020), because it discusses some of the worries of Lightroom Classic users, and I dive a bit into the black hole that is Lightroom’s very name it...

I assume that most of the readers of Lightroom Killer Tips are primarily Lightroom Classic users like me. There’s a lot of good reasons to continue using Lightroom Classic as your home base for your photography. However, Adobe has increasingly given us good reasons to consider using the Lightroom cloud in conjunction with our Lightroom Classic catalogs. In this most recent update they finally added a FAQ for syncing your Lightroom Classic catalog, which I highly recommend reading if you are new ...

How dating apps reflect our changing times

As we look forward to explore what’s next in love and sex, it makes sense to examine to the heart. That which lovers have once worn on their sleeve is now being navigated in the palm of our hands. OPEN POST: Snoop Dogg Wants You To Know He Doesn’t Really Want To ‘HARM’ Gayle King… (VIDEO)

Rapper Snoop Dogg/Lion was in his feelings this past weekend after a clip of Gayle King interviewing Lisa Leslie went viral. In case you missed it, King vigerously questioned Leslie about Kobe Bryant’s 2003 rape accusation, and several celebrities took to Instagram to chastise the journalist about the way she handled the interview. Snoop initially threatened King on his social media timeline, but soon deleted the post and decided to take another route. Details + video below… (more…) Rel...

Making the Most of Lightroom Classic Templates

One of the main reasons we use Lightroom Classic is that it makes our entire digital workflow so much more efficient than using a combination of other tools. A key to getting the most out of Lightroom Classic is to gain mastery over all of the various types of templates that you can employ at different points in your workflow. A template (or preset) is essentially a glorified text file that allows you to save some set of information that you can call into use over and over again, which is mu...

Platypod: Knocking it Out of the Park with Platyball

Not available for direct sale until later in the year, it was a preproduction version designed and manufactured by the makers of the popular Platypod Max and Ultra.  The Platyball will come in two models, the Elite and the Ergo. Both units have identical mechanical features. However, the Elite has an incredibly accurate LED-based leveling device that makes it sta...
