Companies spanning tech, financial services and consumer products that represent over $2.4 trillion in annual revenue and have almost 4.8...

Trump refugee cuts slow resurgence of cities like Buffalo

More than 12,000 refugees arrived in the Buffalo area in 10 years, helping stymie decades of population loss. But as the Trump administration throttles the flow of refugees into the United States, cities like Buffalo that rely on the new arrivals are beginning to feel the pinch.

Sweeping Iran sanctions target oil, banks

All of Iran's oil exports and financial transactions will be targeted under US sanctions that take force Monday, six months after President Donald Trump bolted from a nuclear deal. The sanctions bring back the punitive measures that were imposed and then lifted by former president Barack Obama who reached an international agreement under which Iran moved to end its nuclear program. Iran seeks to leverage diplomatic goodwill

As it braces for the return of a US-enforced oil embargo on Monday, Iran can take comfort in how much stronger its diplomatic position looks compared to the past. During the last sanctions period between 2010 and 2015, most of the world lined up behind Washington to help enforce embargoes aimed at curbing Iran's nuclear programme. The US had a widely respected president in Barack Obama, while Iran had the rabble-rousing Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who riled Western audiences with stunts such as Holoc...

Halloween trick, not treat, on the 10% tax-cut promise

Despite the mug's proclamation, Michael Scott (as portrayed by Steve Carell in the U.S. version of The Office) tended to be a bad boss. Donald J. Trump is that boss that almost all of us have at one time had. You know the one. He or she is always telling clients, "Sure, we can do that. No problem, no problem at all." Maybe no problem for the boss, but plenty of problems for the workers who have to follow through and make good on the pie-in-the-sky pledge. That's probably how Congress is f...
