Benjamin Netanyahu and Benny Gantz both declare Israeli election victory – video

Benjamin Netanyahu was on track on Wednesday morning to become Israel’s longest-serving prime minister, despite his Likud party winning the same number of seats as the party of his main rival. With 97% of votes counted, both Likud and the Blue and White party, led by the former army general Benny Gantz, had won 35 seats in the 120-seat parliament, the Knesset. However, results showed Netanyahu would be in a much better position to form a majority governing coalition made up of nationalist, far-r...

Benjamin Netanyahu and Benny Gantz both declare Israeli election win – video

With the final votes still being counted, both Benjamin Netanyahu's rightwing Likud and Benny Gantz's more centrist Blue and White party have declared victory. Both are currently tied at 35 seats, which is far below the 60 seats required for a majority in the Knesset. But Likud's right-wing coalition partner options are stronger than the left-wing allies available for the Blue and White party, which gives Likud and Netanyahu a slight advantage in the negotiations to come over the next few days.I...

The president’s actions were not OK. Not by a long shot.

This week, Attorney General William Barr testified before Congress for the first time since he submitted his four-page summary of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s principle findings from his nearly two year long investigation. Like his cursory initial letter summarizing the special counsel’s conclusions, Barr’s testimony raised more questions than it answered. First, Barr refused to answer whether he had shared the report with the White House, or briefed them about its contents. Second, Barr ref...

One April Tax Day, 10 tax tasks

Tax Day every April is the biggie for individual taxpayers. That's when our annual Form 1040 is due. And yes, I know this year there are two Tax Days, since Patriot Day celebrants in Maine and Massachusetts get until April 17 to send in their federal returns. But most of us must meet the April 15 deadline, so that's what I focus on in this post. Completing a 1040, however, is not the only mid-April tax deadline.  It's just one of the 10 tax tasks listed below that many taxpayers also must make ...

More Trump firings of senior U.S. immigration officials seen likely
