Apple and Google both removed Wimkin, a free-speech social network, from their app stores, as The Wall Street Journal first reported.
On its website, Wimkin posted a notice, saying "a massive DDOS attack attempt came in" after the removals.
At least one group on the network had repeatedly called for an armed militia to form in Washington during President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration.

Speaking publicly for the first time on Tuesday, President Donald Trump told reporters that "people" believe a speech he gave that incited last week's deadly Capitol insurrection was "totally appropriate."
He also said the push to impeach him over his incitement of the insurrection was "absolutely ridiculous," adding that there was "tremendous anger" over it, though he didn't specify who was angry.
