Apple's TV Box Will Probably Get Disney+, Despite Rival Platform

The new Disney+ app will “in all likelihood be available through traditional app distributors, Apple being one of them,” Disney chief Bob Iger said in an interview with Bloomberg Television’s Emily Chang. While the studio behind “Star Wars” and Marvel movies said during an earlier presentation that consumers will be able to subscribe on Roku and PlayStation, it held back from naming others.

Labor Rules Out Coal Power Subsidies in Australia 

A Labor government wouldn’t subsidize new coal-based generation projects, Mark Butler, the shadow minister for energy and climate change, said in a Bloomberg Television interview Wednesday. “New coal will not get away economically here in Australia without government subsidies and we’re opposed to government subsidies,” said Butler.

Elon Musk Should Be Enabled to Step Back From Tesla, Investor Says

James Anderson, a partner and portfolio manager at Baillie Gifford & Co., said Tuesday on Bloomberg Television that he was “extraordinarily unsuccessful” in pleading with Musk in July for him to take a more peaceful approach to running the company. The following months, Musk tweeted he secured funding to take the company private, abandoned that pursuit and then settled a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission lawsuit.

“We will continue to pursue the extradition of defendant Ms. Meng Wanzhou, and will meet all deadlines set by the U.S.-Canada Extradition Treaty,” department spokesman Marc Raimondi said Tuesday. Qualcomm Says Apple Needs to Take China iPhone Ban Seriously

China just built the world's biggest floating solar project

China has installed a massive field of solar panels on a particularly poignant site: a lake formed by the collapse of abandoned coal mines. The world's largest floating solar project can produce enough power to light up a nearby city in China's eastern Anhui province. The local government wants to expand the initiative to more than a dozen sites, which together would generate the same amount of electricity as a full-size nuclear reactor, the New York Times reported this week.
